May the dorkiness be with you
Mar. 21st, 2009 10:24 pmWith less than a week to go ('til Friday 3/27!), here are my updated Star Wars Marathon rules (I added one that I realized had been a rule "in my head" all along but had never been listed here) - written as if someone else besides me has to obey them. (hey, it happened once! And I cut her some slack). How cool it is that spending a whole day "doing nothing" will result in me getting to cross something off my 101 things list.
1) Don't watch ANY of the movies for at least one month prior to the marathon, preferably two.
2) A day off from work must be taken to do this! Preferably a Friday.
3) The first movie (The Phantom Menace) starts at (or earlier than) 7:00am, possibly can be delayed 'til 7:30 but ABSOLUTELY NO LATER THAN THAT. Just because.
4) Bathroom breaks between movies only. Yes, I realize there's a pause button, or that you might be willing to miss a few minutes to go relieve yourself, but still. Shouldn't have to do that.
5) Snacking/eating during the movies is fine, but no stopping in between movies to go get food. Just easy, microwave stuff.
6) No phone calls/texts. Cell phones turned off, ringer turned off on house phone. No checking/returning messages between movies either. The world will survive without your presence for one day!
7) Petting cats is allowed, as they tend to get whiny if they want attention and you ignore them. But you should try to get the cat to watch the movie with you rather than play.
8) Moving around during the movies is not only allowed, but highly encouraged. DOZING OFF = BAD. (This year, I'm skipping the Clone Wars dvds, since they're obsolete now anyway...so I won't have QUITE as much time sitting on my ass.)
9) No talking during the emo parts, including the pre-emo or buildup-to-emo parts. Only crying is allowed.
10) No interwebz. Full attention paid to the movies.
~
So I finally have an appointment to get my gimp hand looked at. Gee, it only took 2 months for me to get around to that. Go me!
Also, someone needs to drill it into my head that just because a label is removed from something, the thing itself remains unchanged.

Date: 2009-03-22 03:58 pm (UTC)By the way, YOUR darling Gryffin peed on the cat bed I just washed (washed twice, actually, because after one time it still smelled). I caught him in the act! What a goober! And then he tried to bury it by turning the bed upside down. *facepalm*

Date: 2009-03-22 04:16 pm (UTC)He must know we're talking about him, he just came over and plopped down next to me. Little peehead.
I didn't do my "Sat. morning" chores yesterday because the 2 sorta-my-cats were in here. I don't mind freaking out my own cats with the vacuum cleaner -- they're used to it. So I thought, well I'll just do it later, after they want to go out. But they didn't want out 'til bedtime. Fiiiiiiiine, so I'll do them Sunday morning - but now, guess who's back inside snoozing away! Yup, both of them. Oh the dilemma.

Pleased to hear you're finally getting that hand looked up before it seizes up completely. :)

Date: 2009-03-22 09:49 pm (UTC)except when she tells me to stay off the table and counters. You washed all Gryff's scent out of the bed, he had to mark it again.I don't understand what a "sorta-my-cat" is. That sounds a little bit like living in a shelter, which is "sorta-a-home" until you're lucky enough to get adopted by someone as wunnerful as my mommy.
Are you the mommy for the sorta-my-cats too?

Date: 2009-03-22 11:00 pm (UTC)I actually came across ROTJ today on Spike tv, but almost immediately changed the channel, because I can't bear watching that movie when I know that I'll just have to watch Vader and the Emperor die in a horrible, tragic fashion.

Date: 2009-03-23 02:28 pm (UTC)I let them in but I'd let in other kitties too if they wanted to come in. They'd have to be supervised, though. These two are old pros, they can stay inside unsupervised. One's in my house right now, he didn't want to go out when I left for work even when I reminded him he'd be stuck inside all day.

Date: 2009-03-24 02:56 am (UTC)Well one friend I have, he is pretty creative. Writes crazy poetry and stories himself so he gets the fanfic thing. All my other friends give me a blank stare when I tell them about writing/reading fanfic.
Do you have this icon too?

Date: 2009-03-24 03:00 am (UTC)Very few of my friends know about my writing. The ones that do are not the type who would be inclined to go check it out >.> They do the blank stare thing though too, really. And the ones that don't TOTALLY would, if they didn't do the "you're kinda creepy" stare instead.
I would love for someone to surprise me and confess to me FIRST that THEY actually participate in a fandom somewhere. THAT WOULD ROCK.

No, I'm not really coming back, I just wanted to see if you wrote that you died or something. You forgot to turn your phone on again today, I bet.
