Title: "Lessons"
Fandom: Star Wars
Characters: Guess who! (I can't tell you, you just have to read)
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] swficchallenge's 2010-10: Relatives (this was a make-up week where we were allowed to post responses to previous challenges). Originally posted here.
Word Count: 1600
Rating: PG
Summary: A sorta fairytale, to steal from Tori Amos. (Hence, the non-SW icon)
Author's Notes: I wanted to do a lot more with this, but I fail at epically long pieces. I might go back to it later and extract some things.

Title: "Disconnect"
Fandom: Star Wars
Characters: an unnamed droid
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] swficchallenge's #2010-06: Droids. Originally posted in the comm here.
Word Count: 313
Rating: PG
Summary: An unnamed droid in an unnamed household reflects on life there.
Author's Notes: Ignore the icon, it's not an astromech droid :) I'm just lacking in droid icons! This was quite a different thing for me to write. I think I spent far more time thinking of what to say than putting words down.

I know more... )

Author's Notes: My first Obi/Mace fic. Be gentle ^_^ And since this is just a re-post, it was already linked in [livejournal.com profile] jedi_news, no need to re-list it, [livejournal.com profile] xkatie_kittenx!

Fresh Meat

Feb. 11th, 2007 09:55 am
Title: Fresh Meat
Fandom: Star Wars
Characters: Elan Sel'Sabagno, a couple OCs, and an "unknown" Jedi that we all know
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] swficchallenge's Challenge #27 90s One-Hit Wonders
Word Count: 459
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: The challenge was to use one of the song titles in your fic, with a request to bold the title. I wanted to see how many I could squeeze into my ficlet without it being too ridiculous - I managed to get 13 in. (If you'd rather read the story and try to spot the titles yourself, read the un-bolded version in the community here)

He didn't blame her for being upset... )

There is no death, there is the Force )
Fandom: Star Wars
Title: Infinite Sadness
Prompt: late Challenge #3 for [livejournal.com profile] swficchallenge - “Colours.” Inspired by Challenge #2’s footnote about Smashing Pumpkins’ album Melon Collie & the Infinite Sadness, and also the line in James Luceno’s novel Labyrinth of Evil.
Oh! And it also fits with prompt #32 Sunset.
Characters: Just one, a mystery narrator. Hopefully it’s not too great a mystery :)
Rating: PG
Word Count: 161
Warnings: None

The setting suns first dressed the sky in bright shades of orange tinged with pink. The pink soon consumed the orange, bathing the rocks in a rosy glow. Then came the purple hues: lavender giving way to deeper shades, culminating in a rich violet that rendered the land more dark than light. The rocks became cold and black in this light, though still contrasting enough with the white sand to allow for easy navigation around them.

Not that he needed light to make his way back inside. He’d made the journey every day for the standard month or so that he’d been here. Witnessing such natural beauty should be soothing to his spirit, but so far it had had no tangible effect on him. The loneliness and despair gripped him mercilessly. He waited for the violet to melt into indigo, then slid off his favored rock into the sand. He headed inside before the black took over, blanketing everything with darkness.

Prompt: #86 - Choices.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Implied slash
Notes: AU. And I hate the third sentence but can't seem to fix it. I give up and am posting this anyway!
