I told [livejournal.com profile] sakurafromjapan I would catch up on this "soon" -- and then another couple of months flew by! I think the fact that I'm not really happy with any of them is a contributing factor to my laziness? Not going to bother with the WIP photos this time (which I did take for the paintings, not the drawing).

Fandom: Supernatural
Subject: Sam, Dean, Castiel
Medium: Colored pencil
Rating: G
Notes: This was for a LJ arts & crafts exchange last summer in which graphic art was not allowed -- perfect for me, I thought! Well, not so much. This is embarrassing to admit but my recipient didn't even acknowledge receiving it. I included a little note, multiple ways to contact me... nada. I checked with the mod who matched me to her -- no complaints of not having received anything. Obviously she just didn't like it. I don't know anything about Supernatural so I just copied something I found online that I thought would be to her taste.

Exchange fail! )

Fandom: None
Subject: a howling wolf
Medium: Acrylic
Rating: G
Notes: This was a birthday gift for a friend who likes wolves. He liked it. I had sooooooooooo much trouble with the sky, I spent hours doing it and redoing it and it never did come out right :( I watched a "how to" vid on the technique, but that only made me feel worse because they could do in a few minutes what I couldn't do in hours! I like to think that their expensive materials trump my cheap ones, but how much of a cop-out is that really?! lol. I tried to cover it up by making it swirlier. Just, ugh.

Sky fail! )

Fandom: American Idol
Subject: Dalton Rapattoni
Medium: Acrylic
Rating: G
Notes: Another birthday gift for a friend -- we were both really pulling for this guy to win the final season of AI but alas, he did not. The oddly-colored hair is not me taking liberties, he really did have crazy hair! (okay, perhaps I took SOME liberties, only in the back) And yep he wears black eyeliner :)

No specific fail here, just not thrilled with it as a whole )

I finished the last one in October and haven't done anything artistic since. I'm going to start my next piece when I'm done posting my current longfic, which only has 3 chapters left. Hopefully my brain will recognize my desire to trade writing for painting! I have two more to do for other people, then by golly I think I might just do another one for myself.

Fandom: technically "The Last of Us" but not even a fan would recognize it as it never appears in the game, lol. I believe the reference pic I looked at was concept art.
Title: untitled
Subject: snowy winter scene, Colorado
Medium: Acrylic
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: I am seriously incapable of taking a nonblurry pic to save my life, even with my perfect ipod camera, sigh. There isn't a high level of detail to this one though, not as much as I had originally intended. I'll have to hang it somewhere that you can't really take a close look at it. Ha!

This time I took a pic after each painting session. It took me six times. Feels like longer than that to me, I guess because of the gap between some of the sessions. I figured [livejournal.com profile] frostbit_sky, if no one else, might like to see the progression :)

~Let's start at the very beginning~ )

I feel like it takes me longer to paint than it "should." Maybe that's silly and there is no "should," it's only in my head? This time I can (partly) blame the canvas. Each session is between 1.5 - 3 hours (after 3 hours my hand usually starts cramping, and usually I get to a good stopping point before then. Only one of these was 3 hours).

Fandom: The Last of Us
Title: untitled, other than "Christmas Present For My Brother"!
Subject: my brother's favorite season in the game, Fall
Medium: Acrylic
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: the real thing is not this BLURRY, I swear! Usually my iPod takes better pictures >.> I'm not extremely happy with it, but I think my brother will like it. He'll definitely be surprised!

~Follow the River~ )

Not putting this on my f-list because it's not fandom-y, and some of it was on my other LJ, but now that I can't use that one anymore, I should store them here. In the past year and a half I've completed 5 paintings. I can hardly believe it! Before that I hadn't completed even ONE in about 14 or 15 years. I definitely want to keep it up. Maybe I'll post new stuff over here when completed.

I'll post in chronological order behind separate cuts. All of them are G-rated, done in acrylics. I've taken some liberties (esp. with the last one) but all of them are very much copying something else. I'm not confident in my ability to create "true" art. Maybe someday I will be?

They're kinda blurry :( Only crappy cell phone pics taken. They all look so much better in person... though even then, they're best at a distance!

I started with a white tiger )

followed by a request, of sorts, for a snake )

I surprised my friend with a portrait of her daughter )

My mom didn't even know I was painting again when I offered to copy one for her )

I thought Dad might get jealous, so I made one for him... )

Cut for creepiness :D )

Woohoo, I'm halfway done with my claim )

Well, [livejournal.com profile] gizzi1213 is having another birthday. Happy birthday, Deborah! I have a surprise for you! (yup, waited 'til midnight your time. hehe)

Fandom: Star Wars
Title: "Pay Attention To Me!"
Subject: Anakin/Obi-Wan *cringe*
Medium: Pencil
Rating: R
Warnings: Ewwwwwwww!
Notes: Unlike last year's fic, doing this did not make me nauseous! Go figure! It's far from perfect, and has some proportion issues, but after a while I just got sick of looking at it so I declared it done. Given the subject matter, can you blame me? LOL - hope you enjoy it!

No, I'm not doing this again next year! I'm done! )

This is, without a doubt, the worst thing I've ever drawn. YUCK. Deborah, if you'd like the original, I'd be happy to get rid of it! <3

Fandom: Star Wars
Title: "Age of Innocence"
Subject: Young!Palpatine
Medium: Pencil
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: Drawn for my Palpatine claim at [livejournal.com profile] saga_6. In my personal fanon, Darth Plagueis was a "friend of the family" who mentored young Palpatine from an early age. He killed the boy's parents (making it look like an accident, of course) and then took Palpatine under his wing.

Title: Sith Salvage
Fandom: Star Wars
Subject/summary: Palpatine comes to Vader's aid on Mustafar. This was done for my Palpatine claim at [livejournal.com profile] saga_6. (Prompt: Grief) Comm post, for my reference since I don't have a tag there yet, is here.
Medium: Colored Pencil
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Notes: Some of the subtle things I tried to do with the coloring didn't work very well. Anyway, I wanted to do something a little more abstract than my usual pencil drawings, and I did at least succeed in doing that ^_^

Healing touch... )

Fandom: American Idol
Subject: David Cook
Medium: Pencil

Warnings: None
Notes: I drew this as a birthday gift for a friend. (Her birthday is in August - yay for me doing it early!) She doesn't know me on LJ so it's safe to post here. Even though I'm pretty sure none of you care to see this anyway. Hee.

Don't go around breakin' young girls' hearts... )

I've been itching to draw all week, since watching Titanic. YAY because I see it's been over 3 months since I posted any drawings! For shame!

I've been meaning to draw him for a while now...

Click for the pretteh... )

I got tired of saying "it looks better in my sketchbook because it loses something in the scanning process" so I modified my style a little, and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. But it still looks better in my sketchbook!

First drawing of 2008!

It's not perfect, but then, nothing ever is.

Sketch Dump

I did that art interests meme in my regular journal, but wanted to stick the results in here as this is the proper place for my artistic endeavors. Nothing new here, you can skip if you've seen it on [livejournal.com profile] lumy12.

David Tennant )

Chocolate Ice Cream (that everyone sees a skull in because I FAIL! )

Angelina Jolie )

Lucius Malfoy )

Gone With the Wind )

General Grievous )

bottled_void... with a random Padawan braid )

So I'm sorta back in the habit of drawing again. But now I need to focus more on writing.
I just realized I never posted my Jedi Santa art here. So it really hasn't been almost a year since I drew anything post-worthy...ish. Heh. (I'm posting this in June '07 but am back-dating the entry to January '07)

Here's the link, it's NC-17, NWS, Qui-Gon/Dooku pr0n:

Fandom: None
Characters: Hayden Christensen
Medium: Pencil
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: Amber's "skanky rentboy" pic :) I still can't get these scans to show up as big as I'd like. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Ah well, the smaller it is, the less noticeable the mistakes!

It's time to face the truth... I will never be with you )
Fandom: None. But it's definitely fangirly.
Characters: Hayden Christensen
Medium: Pencil
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: Drawn from my favorite Hayden pic. I think his smile looks better on paper than on the scan. Actually, a lot of detail seems to be lost in the scan. Oh well. I did totally cheat on the knit of the sweater, because I didn't feel like painstakingly drawing every thread.

Mmmmm, Hayden )
Fandom: None. Inspired by the movie Dawn Anna, which I babble about in this old post - yes, it's spoilerish.
Characters: Lauren "LuLu" Townsend and an unborn Mooshoo
Medium: Pencil
Rating: PG
Warnings: None - er, except it contains a big movie spoiler across the bottom
Notes: This will make no sense to anyone who hasn't seen the movie - and since it's just a TV movie, I doubt anyone else has seen it. It was on again the other day and it made me cry the rest of the night.

Also, the scan is not the greatest - and I've been messing around with it far too long now, I give up! Photobucket resized it too so it's small. ARGH! 'k, enough bitching.

The one without you in it )
I posted this to [livejournal.com profile] unlimitedepower but not in my own journal, for somewhat obvious reasons. Just a sketch, rather raw.
