With that in mind, you creep vvveeerrrrryyyyy ssslllooowwwlllyyy out of bed and out of the room. Like, it probably takes you a good two minutes to take five steps. Mobile homes have loud floors! you remember with annoyance. You're slightly less stealthy out in the hallway, but still very sloooow to move. You didn't bring your flashlight (the fucking click would probably wake him up) so you're bound to run into a few things before making it all the way to the other end of the home, and need to go slow enough to allow for that. It's impossible to stumble when you're moving at glacial speed.
By the time you reach the other bedroom and shut the door behind you (yes, also very slowly, in case of squeaks), you're not even in the mood anymore. ...Well, okay, not QUITE not in the mood... haha... all you have to do is think about kissing Joel and your stomach does a somersault. You find a small bed in there, twin size, and you sprawl out on your stomach -- you need to be face-down, even though you're down the hall. With the door shut. That's how little you trust your treacherous mouth.
You undo your fly and slip your hand down there to get busy. You try to tell yourself it's Joel's hand... but that doesn't really work, because you know what your hand's going to do, and you think part of the fun with Joel's hand is that it's unpredictable. You still wish he would've helped you out tonight, but you suppose he's allowed to be tired. ...Sometimes.
"Ellie?" Joel's voice floats over from down the hall.

You hear him moving around-- no, actually, you feel it. Like the walls are vibrating or something. Joel doesn't sleepwalk, so...
You have to answer him. It would be too cruel not to, Outside. "I'm down here. I thought you were sleeping!" You know he was sleeping!
"I did fall asleep, but then I... I guess I sensed you weren't there, so I woke up."
His fucking sixth sense did you in. In reverse, even -- sensing that you weren't there! That's SO unfair. How am I supposed to get around THAT? He's right outside the door now.
"What are you doin' over here? Can I come in?"
"No!" you call back immediately. For one thing, your hand's still down your pants... it's the weirdest thing, but as soon as you felt that jolt of fear at the possibility of being caught, it was like... instant arousal. You just want Joel to go away. ...which is pretty ironic, really, given that you really wish it was him doing this. "Hey, Joel, can you touch me now please? Cuz if not, I gotta rub one out real quick myself or I might explode from horniness or something." ...Oh man, if it wouldn't be THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING EVER, it would almost be worth it to say that just to see the look on his face, actually!
But you can't see that anyway, in the dark and behind a closed door, so fuck that.
