I suppose an extreme reaction to adverse stimuli could cause an elevated heart rate or some such that could lead to a heart attack or shock or other physical symptoms that may in turn lead to death. But you can't actually DIE OF EMBARRASSMENT, per se. And even if you could, do you really want to DIE rather than experience a smidge (okay, a BIG smidge) of awkwardness? Do you really want to do that to Joel? You know he'd never get over it. And it's not HIS fault you left your smutty fanfic laying around for the world to see (by the way, did you know that people used to post stories like that on the internet for the whole fucking world to see? Yep, sounds crazy, I know). ...Okay, so it WAS very uncool of him to read your private 'journal,' but if you found a story HE wrote about the two of you having sex, you'd read it, wouldn't you? You wouldn't be able to resist the temptation. Don't you dare pretend otherwise. You even ADMITTED as much on the previous page.
Don't worry -- someday the two of you will look back on this and laugh. It may be years from now, and I know that's an eternity when you're young, but you'll be fine. This will all be just a funny memory soon enough.
