It had become Palpatine’s morning ritual. Fueled by last night’s dreams, his cock sprang to life beneath his hand as the hot water pelted his back. He closed his eyes and saw the boy’s face: full lips, flushed cheeks, features arranged in an arrogant smirk. The expression never failed to arouse Palpatine, and the boy seemed to know it.

His hand pumped faster as his mind’s eye met Anakin’s beautiful baby blues. Here, those eyes reflected a lust equal to his own. Here, he could ravish the exquisite body that teased him so, and replace that smirk with a look of awe and humility. He brought his fantasy Anakin to climax the moment his hand finished its task.

Just as routine was the loneliness that flooded Palpatine once his mechanical orgasm ran its course. He turned to allow the water to stream down his face and wash away his tears. He would then go about his business, convinced that the tears were as automatic a response as his erection.

I'm quite taken by this ficlet. The rational, mechanical nature of the first two paragraphs is in direct and shocking contrast with the third. It's beautifully constructed. I like how in a few, sparse words you've demonstrated the humanity that Palpatine wishes he did not have, and that so many people are willing to ignore. Beautiful.
