Okay, well, I guess my company didn't want to pay a bunch of doctor bills for people who really were, so they let us all go home today. Woohoo!!!!!!!!!! The building next door was doing some kind of work that made our office all smoky in the early afternoon. I thought the slight fog was just my contacts as usual. The smell was slightly annoying but not worthy of being sent home. Of course, others were complaining of headaches and feeling like they couldn't breathe, and one girl even had a coughing fit (and all of these were smokers, hmmmm, go figure! But, as V. says, "we don't smoke THAT shit" - uh-huh, whatever, it's all smoke!)

In the "that's not fair" category, those of us who normally get off at 4:00 got screwed because the people who leave at 4:30 or 5:00 got some extra time off with pay. But, also in that category: many of us got to bolt out the door, while some people had to linger for a conference call or to man the phones. Woman the phones, actually.

Why am I writing this? I don't know, I guess I just thought it was cool that I got some free time off.... I had some more to say but I don't feel like getting into it now. Sorry to leave you in suspense! Maybe I'll post something asking y'all for advice, maybe THEN I can get you guys to comment on stuff here.... I could take a poll.... but that will be for another day.

Now, remember, I can deviate from alpha CD order while listening to my new CDs. Not just for Christmas but any time I get a new one. So I didn't go backwards here to the B's, don't get your panties in a twist over it, people.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!

Eh Stad!
Hey, I had a thought today when I heard "Like a Stone" on the radio (God I love when they play it) - since you're past the A's and will take a millenium to get through all your CD's, could I borrow your Audioslave CD? And when you're done with the new Breaking Benj, maybe that one too, since it won't be new anymore and you won't be able to cheat with your silly strict rules and all!

But of course - Audioslave is in the CD tower, and Breaking Benjamin will be done after this new year's trip. So if you're hanging out when I get home you can have it then.

Do I still have to call and remind you to come over on Saturday? Or was a few days ago RECENT enough to have asked you about it? Heh.

Reminders

Because there is a landmark so to speak (a holiday), you really didn't have to call this time, but if it were any other nothing weekend, then yeah, you should still call. Cuz it wasn't a few days before your trip that you asked me about it; it was a week before, so standard Stad procedures would be to still call, since I live like the wind blows, moment to moment, place to place ... err, whatever.

And now as you know I also had to write a long-ass note and leave 3 voicemails on the way out of town - or maybe 2? There was one I hung up before sending as I couldn't remember the thing I was calling about. I believe it was the one with the Matchstick Men reference ("Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh") in which I actually NOTED it was a MM reference, not where I just said the words. Or non-words. I don't know. Scrabble would count that as a word. Aaron is teaching me how to be a Scrabble master. I'll shut up now, I just think it's cool to keep this thread going that no one will ever see!

Yeah, I'm known already for keeping an old thread going far longer than most humans on the board. It's like giving a nice surprise to those who actually keep checking the whole thing.

You and Aaron should face off against Michael and Lindsay in a Scrabble battle royale, or something. Actually, I don't know if he's played with her or not, but he used to play a lot, and I'm sure he's great at it cuz he's more on top of difficult words than I am.

Long live the thread of pure nothingness!

Coke

From: (Anonymous)
Also, thanks for the Coke - I'm drinking a BIG glass right now, and no, it's not flat, ya silly Stad. The cap was on it nice and tight.

I haven't made it to the grocery store in awhile, so it's my last soda left, and M and L don't exactly do a great job of buying soda. Their beverage of choice is beer. And some weird crap for L, some energy drink stuff.

So thanks for saving my tastebuds, cuz I'm not hungry right now, just thirsty, and since M and L never get water either, that's also up to me, and I don't feel like braving the cold right now to get it either.

Of course this is meaningless drivel to anyone else out there, but F*&#, it's not like anyone else will read this part anyway.

Oh man, I gave up some GOOD Coke? It had been there so long I assumed it was flat. Aaron must have had some before if the cap was on tight, cuz MY tight means it will be flat in a week. I'm glad it came in handy for you though.

I fear for M's liver in later life. L is still young, she can outgrow this beer phase.

I am a slightly more accomplished Scrabble player now. I played on Aaron's playstation last weekend. It was fun! I think he was sorry he showed it to me cuz I got hooked. I kept asking him for help though.

And the key to Scrabble, my apprentice, is not the big words - it's the little ones. You have to make more than one word at a time to get mega points. That calendar I gave Aaron has a list of 2-letter words.

A Scrabble tourney? I still suck too much for that. But if Aaron was with me, he's a pro, so that would even out. (assuming Lindsay sucks?) You could be on my team too, cuz that would be KEWL. (you still have to watch the Fight Club dvd with commentary)

And the thread continues....

I can't decide what I find most amusing in this thread that no one will read. The fact that you area saying it's still continuing and that was only the 8th comment (considering one thread in this LJ of 1,610!) or the fact that your brother said he didn't want to go out in the cold. You live in AZ!!! How cold can it get? What? Was it down to 50 degrees or something??????

Heeeee! This is when he lived across town, so he WOULD actually comment on my LJ. LOL and yeah we mentioned a couple times how AMUSED we were to keep it going and how no one would read it!

1610 comments. LOL

And hey, it was January! It probably WAS 50 degrees! Brrrrr!

Just think how many comments you could rack up if you kept answering all my answers to your comments. Hehehe.

These posts are so ANCIENT.

50 degrees is not cold!!! You southwest people are such wimps!

These are old posts, but then again, you know my love of history!!!

I believe you'll be getting to a Star Wars post pretty soon! I've grown up loving SW, as you know, but I didn't become obsessed with it until RotS. And the summer of 2005 is when I discovered the glory of communities on LJ and started meeting people. But I believe it was President's Day 2005 (back when we actually got that OFF!) that I rewatched the OT and babbled about it in my LJ.

50 degrees is FREEZING.

And this Scrabble Boy header annoys me. No I DON'T remember - was I talking about Aaron or what???

Goodbye Scrabble Boy!!

I changed the header for you, I do spoil you so.

Actually FREEZING is at 32 degrees, no 50 degrees is not freezing. You need to retake your science classes.

You don't get President's Day off? We do...I think!! That's the one in February right?? Yeah, we get it off.

Yeah...SW goodness coming up!!!

You do indeed! And you spoil me with yummy iconage too!

You sound like Nam again :P
I forgot to tell him about how my sleep-deprived brain thought that 7 x 9 = 54.

We used to get it off, but that changed in 2006. We had 3 holidays taken away! I make it a point to slack on those days, though :)

Do you have a scale you use for the amount you allow yourself to slack off? You know, based on what day of the week it is, how many days to or from Wendy Day, and other such variables??

I'm sure Nam could help you with that if you asked him sweetly!!

I do, actually! Like, next week I can't slack off until Thursday. And if Nam were interested, I could give him the "formula" so he could figure out my schedule without actually having a payroll calendar.

Hee! It's true! Now I kinda want to give Nam the schedule for his chart. So he'll know which days I go in at 6am and which I go in at 5am. Because he should totally care about that. LOL

Yes, he should totally care. He likes those kind of details.

You do realize if this were a work day (shudders) we'd be doing this via e-mail!! This way is much better, it counts towards my comment total.

Ok, I'm off to work on drabbles for an hour or so before I need to leave for mom's. Talk to you later!!!

Yeah, today we're not getting PAID to talk to each other. LOL

If you copied and pasted all those emails into comments, you'd be way up in the top 10!

I'm curious to see all these drabbles you keep mentioning but never get around to finishing :)
