Everybody has a Ghost
Apr. 21st, 2005 07:39 am(that title is thanks to recently listening to all my Live CDs - cool song)
Things are disappearing in my house. This past week I have counted 5 items that have vanished into thin air. My first inclination was to blame the cats, of course. Usually when something is missing off a countertop, a naughty kitty is to blame. But if it WERE a cat, the item would not be THAT difficult to find. These things are just completely disappearing. One of them is a large BRIGHT YELLOW folder - kinda hard to misplace. I ransacked my whole living room and couldn't find it (it was last seen in the living room).
My next thought, after exonerating the cats, was that I am going senile. This is quite possible now that I am a ripe old 30-something. But last night I dumped some change out of an envelope - I SAW 2 quarters hit the counter - I turned around to do something else for a second and suddenly only one quarter was there. I looked everywhere.
So the only logical explanation is... "We have ghosts"
(that's a quote from some movie my brother told me about but that I have not seen, it just sounded like a funny part when he told me about it)
There is, allegedly, a ghost residing in our mobile home up in the White Mountains - I'll have to post about that if he "strikes again" this summer.
P.S. I just got the new Garbage CD, so as soon as Madonna is done singing I'm going to deviate from the alphabetical rule for a bit - don't say I didn't warn ya

You don't wanna stay here...Why not?...We have ghosts.
Date: 2005-04-22 01:34 am (UTC)Maybe you do have a spirit here, and it's getting freaked out by all this night-time weirdness from me, disturbing its usual routine. That would be kick-ass to get to live with a ghost. Then we could be "walking with the ghost" ha ha, I bet you have no idea what that means. It's just a music reference to a song you prob'ly haven't even heard, ya silly Stad. Listen to the Edge more often, dammit. That is an order. The Edge rules. I like to catch the top ten freakin favorites at 10:00 on my nights off (Mon.) as long as I'm home, which is like, 99.9999995999999% of the time (ha, that percentage doesn't even exist, it's like a mathematical impossibility or something! I'm inventing stuff.).
So you actually got a new CD before I did - that's amazing. I'm refraining from buying any new ones til I get financially settled with everything going on. Not like if I bought a CD or two it would cost me to lose any chance at having enough sweet moulah for a house or anything, but it's like, an attitude. I can reward myself when everything gets settled. But I'll have to buy more necessities then too so I won't just have boxes all over.
-Stad
Yes I got a new CD before you - I RULE!
Date: 2005-04-22 12:19 pm (UTC)I know what you mean about the attitude - like, remember how I wouldn't go to the Incubus concert with you? The $40 or whatever it was wouldn't have cost me the house, but I was in "bare necessities only" mode. You at least will have the luxury of not having to pay rent while you search, so you know you'll have that money saved (you can pay HALF my bills if you end up being there awhile, but paying rent is not necessary, you don't even really get your own ROOM or anything - at least not a private one!) And you can borrow my Garbage CD, you know.
This is perfect - I'm getting my iPod any day now, and with you moving in I'll have access to all your music - woohoo! You can make sure I put all the cool songs from your collection on there. If you want, you can even take it to work and listen to it yourself, but you'd have to promise not to ever leave it there and let it get stolen! (like you would ever do such a dumb thing)
Boxes make useful tables, by the way. For a while. I think I had a "box coffee table" for a couple years before finally breaking down and buying my current cheapo Target one. Remind me to tell you where the closest all night Walmart is, too, cuz with your funky hours you could probably use one! That's one good thing about Phoenix as opposed to Scottsdale - stuff stays open later.... anyway I'll let you have the table and chairs set I have now if you want. I was going to get the new one I want from IKEA when T paid me back the money she owes me, but now it seems unlikely I'll get it anytime soon (more on that when we next talk in private!) and I'm certainly not going to bug her for it cuz I don't need it as bad as she does, that's for sure.
Now that I've replied to your reply, you must keep it going.... and go back and comment on the blood, you silly Stad!
Re: Yes I got a new CD before you - I RULE!
Date: 2005-05-05 08:55 am (UTC)If you get bored on your time off (ha!) you could always figure out how to program it for me? That will probably wait 'til next weekend.
Expect to see a list on the fridge of crap I need to get done - I like to cross things off when I accomplish them so I feel that much more productive. I don't even have a real weekend to do it either, with A's show on Sat. and then Mother's Day Sun. Plus I have to work Sunday morning (don't HAVE to, but if I don't then I have to go in at 5am on Monday, and I'd rather work Sunday, thank you!) and show you the lawn cuz it's really in need of mowing now (Dad commented on it yesterday, I knew he would!)

Date: 2008-07-13 02:36 pm (UTC)Did Brian take up the chore of mowing the yard??
Re: Yes I got a new CD before you - I RULE!
Date: 2008-07-16 03:13 am (UTC)He's SUPPOSED to do the lawn, but he fails. Usually I ask him a few times but then get tired of waiting and just do it myself. Like if he doesn't do it this weekend I'll do it myself. (just mine, not his - he can do his own!)

Re: Yes I got a new CD before you - I RULE!
Date: 2008-07-20 03:53 pm (UTC)He uses my lawnmower for his own yard (which has more grass than mine anyway) and he uses my internet for free! He still hasn't done the lawn yet though. He said he would. I shall have to harass him more because I don't wanna get up early and do it! (he does it during the hottest part of the day, no problem. But then, this is the guy who will go PLAY BASKETBALL in the heat and not give a shit either. Blech)
Re: Yes I got a new CD before you - I RULE!
Date: 2008-07-20 11:38 pm (UTC)Maybe if you WHINE at him he'll get it done for you. Assuming he's not still sulking over the canceling of the non-date?!
