Access Denied
Jun. 22nd, 2005 06:51 pmI haven't been able to get on the internet at work this week. And my online fate there now rests on the whim of a computer geek halfway across the country. I miss being online during the day. It sucks like, having to WORK all day and stuff.
No, actually, I've been very busy this week. It was a good week for this to happen. Next week will be slow and hopefully I'll be back on by then.
See, I've worked for this company for 5 years, and have had internet access every day. So it's slightly annoying to suddenly have it yanked. When I called the help desk to find out what was going on, they told me I didn't have the proper form on file. "Yes I do, I signed something for my file eons ago." Oh no, not that form, this is a different one. "No one told me I had to sign it?" Well we just discovered that you don't have it on file when we upgraded our systems. -Whatever. I signed the form, put down all kinds of reasons why I need internet access (left off "check email at lunch"), passed it through the proper channels for signatures, and sent it off 2 days later (today). Going through the chain of command is not the path to efficiency, that's for sure.
I took 10 minutes of work home with me Monday night (for internet use) and an hour's worth last night (normal payroll stuff). Karma.
In other news...
1) I love my iPod
2) I am addicted to iPod-ing at work now
3) I can't believe so many people have never heard of an iPod?
4) Just got Spaceballs and The Aviator dvds in the mail today, fun for all next weekend (not this weekend, am going out of town again)
5) 112 degrees is very, very hot
6) And let's not forget... Hayden is hot!
That is all.
(heh - a little inside joke to myself - I crack me up)

Date: 2008-07-21 12:34 am (UTC)That is, oddly, one of my MAJOR fears should I get a new job, losing free access to the internet during the day. The withdrawal will be an ugly thing!
