It's coming...
Aug. 18th, 2005 09:57 pm... high speed internet, baby, yeah! FINALLY.
Just a few days ago I remarked to someone that I was sticking with dial-up for awhile longer. High speed is so expensive. But last night, after staying up much later than I wanted to, re-booting my computer several times (it's the only way to have the hope of a good connection lately) and having to walk away and do other stuff while pages loaded so as not to go stir-crazy, I said screw it, I'm signing up for high speed RIGHT NOW.
I often make impulse decisions like this, but I can't remember the last time I regretted one. The money flow is decent right now, if it gets tight I can pinch pennies elsewhere (like, not buying Anakin standees from starwars.com.... and if I sell anything else on eBay, not going through all $71 in a week bidding on more stuff!)
I could eat Ramen noodles every day and never go out again, happily sitting at home watching all 6 Star Wars movies on dvd, or playing around on my wonderfully fast high-speed internet.
TWELVE MORE DAYS of dial-up. That's the soonest I could get someone to come out on a day non-essential to payroll (so I can miss an hour or so of work).
Two personal notes - welcome to LJ, "HHHH"! And E, if you ever get around to reading this, tonight was fun, I'm glad I got to sit next to you and watch you get misty-eyed over your beer. I will miss you, even though I like, never see you anymore anyway, since you transferred to Mesa, but still. I look forward to letting you experiment with my hair!

Date: 2005-08-19 03:38 pm (UTC)On another note I got my ROTS air freshener. It smells good, still waiting on Paint Shop Pro maybe tomorrow. Sigh. :D
Oh yeah, I am almost done with Half Blood Prince, it got so sad. A friend of mine that is listening to it also at work, She is probably 10 discs behind me came to put some back & saw me crying. I had to bring the last disc home so I can finish it this weekend.

Date: 2005-08-19 03:54 pm (UTC)I cried my ass off. If that's possible :) Okay I cried my eyes out. I finished it late at night and couldn't sleep after. When you finish let me know, we could discuss - you could look at my post from a couple weeks ago,

Date: 2005-08-21 01:56 pm (UTC)I have a couple Anakin figures but I don't go crazy getting them. I got my air fresheners yesterday - yum!
I hope you go see RotS again - we have to all keep seeing it over and over to keep it in theatres as long as possible :)

Date: 2008-08-24 08:49 pm (UTC)The reason it's my favorite number is because it was worn by my favorite baseball player, the one who got me hooked - Steve Finley. I'm afraid he's going to retire, though; no one picked him up this year. :(

Date: 2008-08-27 02:46 am (UTC)He's never been a superstar, only a semi-star. But I think he was vastly under-rated! He does have 5 Gold Gloves. No one plays centerfield like he does! And as Aaron would say if he were imitating me... "He can center my field any time!"
(oops, edited so it goes to the beginning of the article, my bad)
