... high speed internet, baby, yeah! FINALLY.

Just a few days ago I remarked to someone that I was sticking with dial-up for awhile longer. High speed is so expensive. But last night, after staying up much later than I wanted to, re-booting my computer several times (it's the only way to have the hope of a good connection lately) and having to walk away and do other stuff while pages loaded so as not to go stir-crazy, I said screw it, I'm signing up for high speed RIGHT NOW.

I often make impulse decisions like this, but I can't remember the last time I regretted one. The money flow is decent right now, if it gets tight I can pinch pennies elsewhere (like, not buying Anakin standees from starwars.com.... and if I sell anything else on eBay, not going through all $71 in a week bidding on more stuff!)

I could eat Ramen noodles every day and never go out again, happily sitting at home watching all 6 Star Wars movies on dvd, or playing around on my wonderfully fast high-speed internet.

TWELVE MORE DAYS of dial-up. That's the soonest I could get someone to come out on a day non-essential to payroll (so I can miss an hour or so of work).

Two personal notes - welcome to LJ, "HHHH"! And E, if you ever get around to reading this, tonight was fun, I'm glad I got to sit next to you and watch you get misty-eyed over your beer. I will miss you, even though I like, never see you anymore anyway, since you transferred to Mesa, but still. I look forward to letting you experiment with my hair!

OMG, I can't even imagine being on dial-up. It would annoy me to no end (I'm not the most patient individual). So, yay for getting high-speed!

People told me once I'd experienced high speed, I'd never be able to stand dial-up. But not so - we have high-speed at work and I still go home to dial-up (I do spend more time online at work than at home, but I'd like to change that). The more time goes by the slower and slower my 'puter seems to get, even though it's a new computer. Having a better connection HAS to help some!

They are right, I have had broadband for a year & I am afraid if I use anyone else's computer with dial up I will end up breaking it. It is expensive but with the time you save you could work a second job (just kidding).
On another note I got my ROTS air freshener. It smells good, still waiting on Paint Shop Pro maybe tomorrow. Sigh. :D
Oh yeah, I am almost done with Half Blood Prince, it got so sad. A friend of mine that is listening to it also at work, She is probably 10 discs behind me came to put some back & saw me crying. I had to bring the last disc home so I can finish it this weekend.

You're already on Half-Blood Prince? Wow it goes fast with those CDs.... do you listen to them nonstop at work or something?

I cried my ass off. If that's possible :) Okay I cried my eyes out. I finished it late at night and couldn't sleep after. When you finish let me know, we could discuss - you could look at my post from a couple weeks ago, [livejournal.com profile] alwaysthequiet1 and I were talking a little about it...

Well, I had seen the first 3 movies, so I started with Goblet of Fire, but I am going to go back & listen to the first 3 books. Yes I do listen to them non stop. I do data entry, so most of the time I am at my desk.

I had to delete my last post. I screwed up. Alwaysthequiet1 was part of the reason I started reading it. I didn't know you yet. She had said she read it in 12 hours. I had asked her about Snape going bad, I can't remember what she said maybe something about how I interpret his actions. I have listened to the part (you know) & I am still not sure, I also have the Entertainment Weekly with Harry on the cover & it has a little article about Snape vs Snape the good & bad. Oh well I have a little left to go but, we will probably have to wait for the next book to find out. It did take me a while to figure out he was the HBP, only when he caught Harry in the bathroom with Draco. OMG, I watch this show on travel channel called "Most Haunted" and it is going to start in 10 minutes. Gotta Go

I am SO taking that icon!

I for one do not believe he is bad. Many do. I certainly am excited for book 7 though. Let me know when you finish. There's one line in there that REALLY started the waterworks for me....

Thanks for the warning. BTW got my Paint Shop Pro 9 today. I am going to install it tonight, didn't get up until 3pm so I will be up for a while. I might go see ROTS on Sunday. I am having whith-drawls. At Walmart today I caved & bought another (I have several) Anakin figure set. Three in all It is evelotions, an Anakin from Ep 2, one from Sith & a Darth Vader. Bad Bad Bad, I am. Now I am getting ready to buy Shattered Glass from Amazon. I am out of control. :D

I got Shattered Glass too! I've already seen it, though - my bro "yelled" at me cuz it's on HBO all the time. And actually I had taped it off HBO so I really didn't need to order the dvd. But what kind of Hayden fan would I be if I didn't own it on dvd? Tapes suck. I only like them better if you can't have the volume up real loud. I don't know if it's just me but it's hard to hear the quiet parts of a dvd on my player unless you turn it way up, then the loud parts really blast at you. It's cool, but not if someone's sleeping in the next room or something :)

I have a couple Anakin figures but I don't go crazy getting them. I got my air fresheners yesterday - yum!

I hope you go see RotS again - we have to all keep seeing it over and over to keep it in theatres as long as possible :)

P.S. Cool icon, that's one of the crossovers you mentioned!

I saw someone had a "chosen one" icon that flashed Anakin and Harry and some words, I didn't read them though, just noticed the pictures....

I have this one but, the user name won't show up so I must have copied it wrong. Now you've done it, I am going to have to find the icon that moves. Oh well I will be up most of the night anyway. LOL :D

Ha ha ha, very funny! Mmm I should have some now instead of a real dinner, cuz it's so late. I should just not eat anything really but... I'm kinda hungry! Don't wanna end up driving through McDonald's in the morning for no good reason!

By the way, when I posted my last reply to you, I saw "tzietlmalfoy" or however the fuck she spelled it -- that's my Kate/[livejournal.com profile] azurien - heeee, back when we first met, how cute!

Oh, a name change. That would drive me nuts, having to think up a new name for an ID. I have no originality at all, I use the same one everywhere.

WHICH REMINDS ME!!! I keep forgetting to ask you what I've wondered for a while now -- where did the 1213 come from? I know it's not your birthday!

From: [identity profile] gizzi1213.livejournal.com
It's partially my birthday. My bday is 4-12-63, so that is where the 12 comes from. The house I grew up in was #13 on the road, and that is where the 13 comes from.

Why do you have 12 after Lumy??

Date: 2008-08-24 08:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
I see! Okay. My 12 is simply because 12 is my favorite number.

The reason it's my favorite number is because it was worn by my favorite baseball player, the one who got me hooked - Steve Finley. I'm afraid he's going to retire, though; no one picked him up this year. :(

And I've never heard of the guy except in your comments about him! LOL

Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Finley) is the wiki on him! I actually edited this because some yutz got something wrong towards the end. Hee.

He's never been a superstar, only a semi-star. But I think he was vastly under-rated! He does have 5 Gold Gloves. No one plays centerfield like he does! And as Aaron would say if he were imitating me... "He can center my field any time!"

(oops, edited so it goes to the beginning of the article, my bad)

OH! My favorite player when I was an active Mets fan was a centerfielder as well. How funny.
