Since this is a music post, I cheated and used my favorite line from "The Saga Begins" instead of a real Star Wars quote.  And yes I worked on this instead of doing my Christmas cards.  (Bad Wendy!)

Some of you said you were interested in my Anakin playlist that I never got around to posting eons ago.  If you're not interested, well, just go away now, I won't hold it against you!

Rather than babble on and on about each song (which I SO could do) I just put a few key words after each one, and I did note the ones that are "fangirl songs only."  Some of the songs were originally performed by someone else; the lyrics page makes note of this, so I didn't bother.  Just click on the song title to see the corresponding lyrics.

My Always-a-Work-in-Progress Anakin Playlist

"Yoda" - Weird Al Yankovic:  Okay, so Darth Vader is mentioned once, therefore I can count it as an Anakin song.  Shut up.

"The Saga Begins" - Weird Al Yankovic:  *giggle*

"Holding Out for a Hero" - Bonnie Tyler:  for Anakin's hero complex.

"(Everything I Do) I Do it for You" - Bryan Adams:  Ani/Padme

"Please Forgive Me" - Bryan Adams:  Ani/Padme

"Surrounded" - Chantal Kreviazuk:  beautiful sad song; the lyrics don't exactly fit but I can't bring myself to take this song off my list!

"A Rush of Blood to the Head" - Coldplay:  losing himself

"Spies" - Coldplay:  confusion

"Trouble" - Coldplay:  the PERFECT Anakin song, if I had to pick one.  I think.  Well, so far.  His intentions were good but he got in way over his head.

"What If?" - Coldplay:  Ani/Padme, but more so for the RotS book than the movie (the movie didn't really show his paranoia so much).  His fear of losing her.

"Fix You" - Coldplay:  wanting to control everything, to make things right... but mostly Ani/Padme, I suppose

"Here With Me" - Dido:  Ani/Padme

"Superman" - Five for Fighting:  feeling the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders

"#1 Crush" - Garbage:  Ani/Padme, but yeah it's really pretty fangirly, truthfully :)

"You Look So Fine" - Garbage:  total fangirly song

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" - Green Day:  loneliness

"If" - Janet Jackson:  rabid fangirl song!

(Here I have "Anakin's Dream" and "The Immolation Scene" from the RotS soundtrack.  No lyrics)

"Lightning Crashes" - Live:  death/rebirth

"The Unforgiven" - Metallica:  okay, maybe THIS is the best Anakin song.  How he struggled to conform to the rules of the Jedi but keep his own spirit... but he can't win no matter what he does.  Also the dying regretfully stuff is a nice reference to RotJ.

"Die, Die My Darling" - Metallica:  okay, so this one probably shouldn't be on here, but it amuses me.  They are true for perhaps a split second in RotS.

"Loverman" - Metallica:  no, this one's NOT a fangirl song.  It's for Anakin's obsessive lust for Padme, and the evil that always lurks in him

"No Leaf Clover" - Metallica:  being deceived, choosing the "easy" path

"Apocolypse Please" - Muse:  this one probably shouldn't be on here - it's more for the fall of the Republic than for Anakin.  But it's my list, I can leave it on here if I want.  :P

"Time is Running Out" - Muse:  Ani/Obi.  Liek woah

"Lake of Fire" - Nirvana:  another one that's here solely for my own amusement.  Comic relief.

"Silent Lucidity" - Queensryche:  sort of Ani/Padme.  And sort of just on here because it's so beautiful and haunting.

"How to Disappear Completely" - Radiohead:  Denial.  This song has really simple lyrics but the music is AWESOME.  Might be my favorite Radiohead song.

"I'm Too Sexy" - Right Said Fred:  of course, purely fangirl here!

"No Ordinary Love" - Sade:  Intensity

"Fallen" - Sarah McLachlan:   Losing his way, fucking things up

"Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover" - Sophie B. Hawkins:  *giggle* Yes another purely fangirl song

"Fell on Black Days" - Soundgarden:  becoming Darth Vader

"Shape of my Heart" - Sting:  Hmmm.  I guess it's for feeling like a square peg in a round hole.  I just love this song, but re-reading the lyrics now I'm thinking it doesn't really scream "Anakin song."  *shrugs*

"Sex Type Thing" - Stone Temple Pilots:  Sorry, this is the last fangirl song, I swear!  (yeah mainly cuz I'm almost done)

"A Sorta Fairytale" - Tori Amos:   Ani/Padme.  Perfect until he went down that path she couldn't follow.

That's it.  Thanks for reading!  Comments always welcome.

That is sooo awesome!

Theses are really good ones I've always thought of:

Such Great heights--The Postal Service (Ani/Padme)
Angel--Sarah McLachlan (Ani)
These ones have music videos, they are wonderful:

Everytime--Brintey Spears (Ani,One hopes it was ultimately the power of love that was his salvation and brought him back to his humanity in the end.)

Someday I will understand-- (Ani/Padme, This song video 'Someday I Will Understand" focuses on Padme during Episode III. The song title and lyrics expresses her realization of her crumbling world especially as it pertains to her husband, Anakin.)
You can Find both of the music Videos, and many more here: http://www.azonia.net/stargate/miscmv.html

I just realized this song ("A Sorta Fairytale" - Tori Amos) has lyrics in references near to where I live. Like, I know all the locations it talks about. Lol

Thanks for the link! And yeah, I like that about the whole Scarlet's Walk album, she goes all over the country... we have a "101" here but other than that I can't say I know where she's talking about. I used to love Tori so much - I still do, but I don't have her new stuff. What's wrong with me? Heh. *vows to show Tori some more love soon*

Heh. Well, it wasn't THAT bad, I've had the list on my iPod forever. That's a great song - do you like the Nirvana version? I don't think I'd heard either until I heard the Nirvana cover.

The Nirvana version is the one I love. In fact the whole Nirvana Unplugged CD is just one of my favorite albums. I don't think I have heard the Meat Puppets sing their own song although I remember them playing at our state fair maybe in 94? I used my vacation to work do the horse race bets. It was fun. Here comes RAMBLING MINDY again. What kind of ipod do you have? I am researching what kind to buy right now but I need input from friends.:)

Rambling is cool! I have a green iPod mini. 6GB size (approx.1500 songs) I would highly recommend it. But the newer versions have extra features you might like, like watching videos... sending pictures too, I think... the Nano is appealing to me but it doesn't hold nearly as many songs as the mini. (like, 500 less)

I really like the kind that plays video but I really don't have any use for it & I can send pictures from my phone. I mostly want it to download a 3hr radio show that I don't have a chance to listen to all of everyday. It is 2 local guys who are hilarious & make the day at work go really fast but part of their show is on during lunch & I try to be out then. Thanks, I will check yours out, probably on E-bay.
