"I have the high ground"

Went up to Flagstaff yesterday for my company's annual ice-cream social up there. I had never been before, I only went this time because it was doubling as a going-away for someone I'm fond of. I hitched a ride with 3 other people, we had a jolly good time all the way there (it's 2 hours away). I ate 2 gigantic bowls of ice-cream. I played the word games and could have kept doing that all night (word search, how-many-words-can-you-make-out-of-these games, and how many ice-cream flavors can you name). Skipped the balloon toss. Would have been more inclined to do that had I remembered to bring casual clothes to change into!

This event ended at 6:30, and the 8 of us who had come up from down below took the going-away gal out to dinner to a fun little Mexican place. It was so nice and cool out (almost COLD), we actually sat outside! (that's unheard of in Phoenix at this time of year) I had hoped that the Big Cheese would pick up the bill, but he only paid for the guest of honor and someone else in her office. So now I'm broke the rest of the week. Oh well, it was worth it.

Getting home at 10:30pm last night means I'm pretty darn tired today, but I will live.

My bro showed me a Conan clip - "rejected Star Wars characters" - have you guys seen it? It was a repeat, I assume it first aired when Sith was coming out. Funny stuff. The best was "Darth Brooks."

High speed is here and it's beautiful!!! Now I can go look at stuff I've been missing out on cuz my 'puter was lame.

My prodigy email address will be biting the dust in a few days. I am now racking my brain trying to remember all the places I need to update this info. No way will I remember all of them. I've had that account since 1997! "You guys were still in diapers" - errr, wait, I stole that from my bro and it doesn't really apply here :) I wanted to keep the addie but they won't let me. Phooey.

The installer dude admired my Anakin standee. He said he just came from a customer's house with a Stormtrooper - a real costume, displayed on a mannequin but the guy can wear it too. The guy also buys all the lightsabers (the expensive kind) that come out. He said his wife left him after the last one. Ha! Should I track him down? Sounds like my kind of guy. Heh.
