((cheating on the quote title - I just watched the extras on the TPM dvd and was amused by this webdoc title!))

Happy Anniversary to me! I've been at my job exactly 6 years today. It was a Monday when I started, too. *pauses a moment to remember 6-years-younger n00b-on-the-job self*

My computer at home is "restored" - which means some stuff was saved but some wasn't. My email is working again. The biggest pains in the ass now appear to be re-doing my iTunes (I can see all my folders backed up but can't see the actual songs to import? WTF? You'd think they'd be in a format that iTunes would recognize! Ugh, I'm sooooo computer-illiterate) and my Quicken, which I'm quite used to starting anew anyway. It SHOULD be backed up on the external drive, but I can't seem to access it.

I was supposed to be going to the RenFest on the 18th but now K. can't make it that day, and she's out of town the week after... maybe I'll just go by myself. It's far easier than trying to coordinate with another person. I'm the type to go shopping, go to the movies, go for coffee, etc. by myself because I prefer to be alone. Quite anti-social, really.

Oh, and I now have a Jedi character ([livejournal.com profile] depagonedarkish) at [livejournal.com profile] omg_lightsaber, woohoo! She's supposed to be really skilled in combat, and I know nothing about fighting or rp'ing fight scenes, so I'm sure that will be... amusing. Maybe she'll just happen to never even spar with anyone ever. Yeah. Or the scene will look like this: *fight fight fight* / *block block block* / *etc.* Ah well, I'm sure the crack will take care of things :)

I was just about to tell you about Depa and Vaapad, but then I realised you read Shatterpoint before me!

Glad to hear you've had progress with your computer, sorry I was being so unhelpful!

Happy anniversary!

I did, and I liked it better than you did, as I recall!

Thankee :)

Yay for anniversary!

You could just try having iTunes search the hard drive/relevant folders, rather than importing them manually.

It's okay, I can't RP fight scenes, either. Obi just basically blocks, because he uses Soresu, but I'm kind of scared to try and RP Vaapad.

Hehehe, 2 Vaapad masters sparring and it would look like how I described above :)

Hey, that's pretty good. *adds to cop-out list*

I know you like Depa. You should totally play IC!Depa and have her wake up from her little nap. And somehow not get sent to prison for the rest of her life. Unless that's too much canon rape even for a crack RPG?

I still like the idea of having a canon Depa go "blub" every once in awhile. >.> *is silly like that*

*pokes*

"On the rain-drenched world of Jabiim, during the Battle of Jabiim, Skywalker came into his own. As Obi-Wan was thought to have been killed by a Separatist attack, Anakin led a cadre of similarly "orphaned" Padawans. However, in the deep of the battle he received an urgent transmission from Palpatine to personally evacuate the planet.

Respecting the Chancellor's power and friendship, Anakin had to comply with his wishes, though it was hard for him to desert his friends in the final front."

You know what? I read something similar to that - about Palpy pulling him out of there - but I thought, nah, that won't happen in the OOCverse because if OOC!Ani learns of Obi-Wan's "death" he'd go apeshit over there and probably kill himself.

Besides, doesn't Amber want him to rescue Obi?

From: [identity profile] sanestlunatic.livejournal.com
Apparently, Gmail isn't auto-refreshing. >.< It does that sometimes when I'm on dialup.

Yeah, but he still needs to get off of Jabiim in order to rescue Obi (see Mace's comm telling him to report to Ki-Adi). Bah, I wish Amber was around so we could discuss this.

Besides, Amber won't let him go terribly insane. ;)

Date: 2006-03-13 12:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] notfromajedi.livejournal.com
Maybe he wouldn't be too insane cuz he could feel it over the bond that Obi's not dead?

I fear thinks-Obi-is-dead!Ani.

Palpy's still enjoying himself, for the moment. *evil cackle*

Date: 2006-03-13 12:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sanestlunatic.livejournal.com
Yeah. I mean, he can't tell where Obi is, but I'm sure that he knows that he's not dead.

So do I. In fact, I think most people do.

Heh, so I saw. That thread wins at life.

It's a little weird with Amber not "really" being around to play him either - but if you want, Palpy could order him out and... I guess override Mace - heh, which would make him even more popular, I'm sure :)

I will soooo teach you to fight. And/or choreograph a fight scene with you. It's fun! As long as you don't do something stupid like I always end up doing.

From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
Yay! We can practice in AIM and you can tell me if I "do something stupid" that a skilled Jedi Master would never do!

From: [identity profile] sweet-panda.livejournal.com
.... I meant in rl. But over AIM works too. You've just gotta picture it in your head. It goes really slowly, since really, all you can get done at a time is maybe 3 steps in a fight.

In person? Forget it! I'm the hugest wuss ever!

No LARPing for me, nope, huh-uh. But I suppose if it would help me in rp... hmmm. *strokes beard thoughtfully* Ooooops that's Megan's thing. *strokes bare chin thoughtfully*

I just watched the extras on the TPM dvd and was amused by this webdoc title!

Some of them were really bad, weren't they! Especially the kid with the X-wing, awh, bless him.

Congrats on 6 years in the job! :D

I thought they were adorable! But yeah, some were better than others. Jake did stand out, at least from the footage they showed. People like to rip on his performance but I thought he did pretty well for a 7-year-old... it WAS Star Wars dialogue, after all :)

Wow, that means you've just had your 9th anniversary. I don't even remember you mentioning it that day.

I did mention it!!! If you still have your emails you should find it!

I guess I don't remember it then. That was a friday, hmmm...oh yeah, that was the friday I ordered the wayward b-day present. OH...did you get the second one yet???

Yes indeedy! It came while I was watching ANH! Of course I didn't answer the door. LOL I would have been mad if they didn't leave it and I had to go somewhere to pick it up when I was actually home.

How about some randomosity now. I cooked today! (had to fill my weekly quota) But I decided to use up some old stuff that I had. I won't tell you what it was cuz you'll probably get grossed out. It was the oldest of this item I think I'd ever seen. Like, part of it wasn't even usable at ALL. I looked at the expiration date -- it said Feb 02, it didn't say what year! (I know the year wasn't 02. lol - no, it had to be '08 or '07, I know if it was '09 it would have still been good!) Ick, so I had to throw some of that away, but I'd already heated up my pan so I grabbed a substitute. THAT had an expiration date of 10/3/07. Not bad! So I made my little meal and ate it and it tasted JUST FINE.

My stomach is a little gurgly, but I think I'll live!

Sorry! *sheepish*

You wanted more stuff to comment to!

Oh I finally installed the AIM update I've been ignoring for a year or so. You guys haven't bitched about it lately so hopefully they fixed whatever glitches there were. NOW I can see people's status, though I don't know how to see it...I guess? I just see it has a place for me to put my own status. It's nice that I can see people's away messages without hovering over their name. (unless they're really long of course)

Date: 2009-03-30 12:58 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] gizzi1213.livejournal.com
The status message is under the person's name, if there is one. I think, I can't remember and I'm not going to turn on AIM now unless you tell me you're on it.

Date: 2009-03-30 01:02 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
I was going to get off it and go watch a movie or something, but then my friend signed on and she keeps bitching at me that I'm never on (sound familiar??), so I'm letting her rant to me about stuff :)

But pretend I'm not on, because this way you're making progress on the TSP!

And all I see under people's names are their away messages. If they're not away, there's nothing showing there.

Date: 2009-09-28 11:54 pm (UTC)

See! More progress on the TSP!!!!!

I need to work on clearing my cox.net inbox. I have undealt with emails in there going all the way back to 9/11!!! Oh noes! (there are some older ones in the "Deal With Me" folder, but those aren't time-sensitive like some of these newer ones are)

Hmmm, I think I'll start up the icon thing again, though I'm not sure where I left off. I'll start with M since that's middleish. ...and hey this is the only M I have. That's kinda weird, huh?

One comment here per one email in cox.

From: [identity profile] gizzi1213.livejournal.com
OH!!! Did I tell you I've been working on my inbox???? It's down to 990 emails and 310 are marked as unread. That's confusing me since I sorted it be sender and zapped all the junk mail into the deleted folder, so I'm still not sure what the unread ones are!!!!

Date: 2009-09-29 04:25 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
You're still working on it? Wait -- that's your home one? If it is, that's impressive! If it's your work one then I don't know how you can survive like that!

Date: 2009-09-30 10:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] gizzi1213.livejournal.com
No, that's my home one. My work one is much more organized!!!!

Date: 2009-09-30 06:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
I should hope so, since you get paid to keep it that way!

Date: 2009-09-30 11:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] gizzi1213.livejournal.com
Using that theory, I only have to keep it 80% organize now!!!!

Date: 2009-10-03 03:01 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
True, but that sounds like a bit of an effort to make it exactly 80% :)

Ack, where did I leave off in my icon thing?
