This week's
1) How do you feel about people who commit suicide? Such as, do you feel that they are too lazy to deal with life, have depression, do you feel sorry for them, etc.? Too lazy to deal with life? That sounds pretty callous. Obviously everyone who tries to do it is different. And most of them are more cries for help than serious attempts at suicide. My generalized opinion is that I feel sorry for them and hope that they get the help they need to realize life is worth living.
2) What do you think people say about you behind your back? That I'm a big dork. It's totally true, of course.
3) If you could own and operate any major business, what would it be? I've never wanted to own and operate a major business. If I could just do the fun stuff involved and not any of the nitty-gritty WORK stuff, I suppose I'd want a baseball franchise.
4) Are you/would you be embarrassed to talk to your friends or family about sex? Um, not really. I'm an open book. But, well, yeah, not really with the parents. They might think I'm a virgin for all we talk about stuff. We just... don't.
5) In some cultures, young women are married and begin families as soon as they start a menstrual cycle. Do you believe this is right or wrong? Why? I don't feel like I'm knowledgeable enough to judge other cultures, but looking at it from my Americanized point of view - hell no. Getting married and having babies when you're still a child yourself just screams all kinds of "wrong" to me. I don't understand how anyone can be happy in such a forced situation - but, I suppose happiness is not the ultimate goal of some cultures. And just because a girl menstruates does not mean she's physically mature enough for a sexual relationship, let alone emotionally/psychologically mature. Ick.
And...
Name ten of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick ten people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.
I fail at ranking stuff so these are in no particular order:
1) A hot, fragrant, yummy bubble bath, with a scented candle or two, and a book. Ah, bliss.
2) The first sip of a fresh cafe mocha at a coffeeshop, especially when I know I have a couple of hours to kill there, writing or reading
3) People have already mentioned purring cats. I'll go with cats lounging in amusing positions that don't look at all comfortable to the human eye.
4) The sights, sounds, and smells of the ballpark (Bank One Ballpark, in particular - now Chase Field, but whatever, it's still the BOB to me) - absolutely one of my favorite places to be
5) Waking up to Star Wars music every weekday.
6) CAKE. Any kind of cake. GIMME GIMME.
7) Nights that are still cool enough to not need the air conditioner
8) Summer weekend trips up to the mountains (first one coming up in 3 weeks, w00t!) where I have not a care in the world for 2 whole days. I'll babble more about this one later.
9) Walking out the office door on Friday afternoon.
10) Playing a song perfectly on the piano. It's been a while for me. I'm thinking I really need to get the darn thing tuned - if it sounded good, I'd be more apt to play it, methinks.
I'm not going to tag anyone because I've decided that tagging is of the Dark Side. Errrr - wait, that wouldn't stop me from doing it. I'm just not going to tag anyone, 'k? If you'd like to do it, please consider yourself tagged!

Date: 2009-04-02 04:32 am (UTC)But yes I remember going back and forth on the "tagging other people" thing. I think after I started tagging people again I made a game of it, like... I have to keep tagging people until every single one of them does it.
