Sep. 15th, 2006 07:41 amSometimes, I really hate baseball. That's all I'm gonna say about that.
This week's
thefridayfive is movie-related, whee!
1. What's your favorite line from a movie, and why? I can't pick just one! I'll list a few.
"I never told anyone about Jack... not even your grandfather. A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets." - old Rose in Titanic
I love love LOVE that movie so much. That last line always moves me, it's just so true. And I love how this movie gave me a new appreciation of old people and the stories they hold.
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." - Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind
Even though the line was different in the novel and that annoyed me at first <.< I love this line. It's just so fitting.
"I don't know, they were jammies - they had Yodas'n'shit on 'em." - Nathan Arizona in Raising Arizona
This is the line that sent my brother and I into HOURS-long gigglefits when we were young and silly. I think we really annoyed our parents because we were watching one of the Superman movies right afterwards and were still giggling - at inappropriate times.
"There's no crying in baseball!" - Jimmy Dugan in A League of Their Own
Classic Tom Hanks goodness! This is one of my all-time favorite movies.
And, because I'm a geek, I have to include this:
"May the Force be with you" - I'm pretty sure someone says it in all 6 Star Wars movies. I should know that for sure, but I don't. I fail.
2. Who's your favorite villain from a movie, and why? I'm going with Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. I love that man no matter who he's playing - he's got the comical evilness thing down pat.
3. Name one movie everyone else loves that you hate. Ummmm - there really isn't one. "Hate" is a strong word. I hated the Jay and Silent Bob movie but probably a lot of other people did too?
4. Name one movie everyone else hates that you love. I'll say Urban Cowboy though I'm not sure how many people hate it. Most people are surprised to find out that I love this movie. I could watch it over and over. I was obsessed with the soundtrack a few years ago - mind you, the movie came out in 1980.
5. What's your favorite Pixar film, and why? I haven't seen most Pixar films. I've seen Toy Story and Finding Nemo one time each, and enjoyed them both... can't pick a favorite.

What else... oh, yes of course I wouldn't do it before the ceremony, it would be the day before. I might cry during the wedding though.
