((I think I failed at that quote. Help, anyone?))

I haven't posted in a while. I'm not nearly as glum as I was last week, just feeling the January blahs, I guess. I think I'm going to follow in [livejournal.com profile] kevthejedi's footsteps and try to post less often this year. I'm seriously the most boring person living the most boring life, there's no need to post about it. Better to post in communities where I at least know I'm not boring folks (hopefully).

I had time to write this weekend but my writing has been craptastic. I'm writing more in my regular (paper) journal now because it makes me sad that I unwittingly turned it into a place to spew out RP and fanfic ideas instead of real thoughts/feelings. I want it to be for both.

American Idol starts tonight, yay!

My life is totally a zillion times more boring than yours, and I post twenty gazillion times a day. :P

Not true! You're going to new classes! Exciting happy fun times!

*snorts* You must have a very strange opinion of exciting, happy, and fun.

You're probably right. Otherwise, I would get bored like a normal human, no? I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse that I don't get bored.

Probably a blessing, seeing as how I always sit around and go "OMG, Wendy, I'm bored!"

Which I suppose makes you bored by proxy?

Hey I don't remember you saying it more than once this weekend. Good little Megan. *breaks out the gold stars!*

:P That's just because I know you're tired of me whining about it.

Also, why aren't you online?

From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
Because I'm lazy. And watching American Idol. And going afk on commercials cuz I didn't get my stuff done before AI cuz... I kinda took an accidental nap. Whoops!

um

why do you like American Idol?

Ohhhh it's a fun show! A year ago I was making fun of it and then... the unthinkable happened. I got hooked.

Which is your favorite part about it?

Date: 2007-01-17 04:49 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
Right now it's just funny. Most of the people they show auditioning suck, and I swear some of them ONLY got to audition for the comedy factor (good for TV). I like it more after I develop a liking for some and disliking for others, then it's fun to root for/against them every week. And sometimes certain performances will sway me one way or the other.

From: [identity profile] karinablack.livejournal.com
Do you get someone you'll root for, and do you vote?

Date: 2007-01-17 04:54 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
Yeah, I vote multiple times. Heh. But there's no voting this early in the competition. Not sure when that starts.

Do you think the public embarassment is cruel to the contestants, in the name of "good television?"

Do you think some contestants have a basis for a lawsuit?

How do you feel about Paula, given the recent drug/alcohol accusations?

Date: 2007-01-17 05:00 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
Yes, in some cases. If they're acting like idiots, no. But the first girl burst into tears and they kept the cameras on her a bit too long in my opinion. Yeah people like drama and stuff but... come on, after a couple seconds that's enough.

No, they should know what they're getting into.

I saw a clip of her doing an interview while apparently high... I don't know what to think about her. Really stupid to do an interview that way... but I still like her on the show. I don't think "Oh there's that druggie Paula" when she opens her mouth or anything.

What do you think about Simon Cowell? Is he over the top or on the money?

Date: 2007-01-17 05:09 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
On the money. A bit harsh, but it's not like he dislikes everybody.

Date: 2007-01-17 05:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] karinablack.livejournal.com
There have been some contestants who've criticised Simon as not knowing talent. Do you think he has a place on the panel, or is he there just for his witty remarks?

What about the other two?

Date: 2007-01-17 06:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
Heeeeee, where is all this coming from?

I don't really know his background so I don't know if he's a good judge of talent or not. I don't know anything about Randy either, and Paula's just a ex-singer/dancer/cheerleader... talent is subjective. No one last night really stood out to me as having extraordinary talent.

I was disappointed with last year's final results. /random

Who were you rooting for last year? Why were you disappointed in the gray haired guy?

Date: 2007-01-17 06:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
I was rooting for Ace though if I'm honest it was more for his looks than his voice. After him I wanted Chris, he should have made it at least to the final round but... some of us were apparently lax in voting. I never voted for him because he was the "popular" one and I figured he'd get enough votes. I guess a bunch of others thought the same thing!

Then in the final round I wanted Katharine... I just liked her better than Taylor. Taylor always seemed a bit gimmicky to me.

How do you feel about the age-restrictions on Idol?

Do you feel American Idol is a starmaking machine, or just a gimmicky tv show?

Date: 2007-01-17 06:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
I'm actually unaware of the age restrictions. For minimum age or maximum age?

It's mostly a gimmicky TV show. Who knows if the winners (or finalists who go on to make albums) would have made it on their own though.

From: [identity profile] karinablack.livejournal.com
Max age is 35. Min age I'm assuming is 18.

Kelly Clarkson did a show opposite the AI finale last season, do you think that was "ungrateful?"

Date: 2007-01-17 06:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
The youngest I've seen on there is 16. I don't recall who the oldest one is. Probably Taylor but he's only like, 29 or 30.

Not ungrateful so much as stupid. You can't compete with the FINALE of AI!

Ooh, I'm a trend setter - never been that before! I don't think your posts are boring though, I always read them (when I come online)!

Quote sounds good to me, the force is with you.

From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
I got a quote correct? *dies from shock*

At least YOU have a good reason not to post. As in, a good RL reason. I'm just whining more to my other journal instead of blabbering on here. Ha!

Date: 2007-01-17 03:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kevthejedi.livejournal.com
You should give yourself more credit, you get most of them right!

There can be lots of good reasons for posting, it depends why you blog. I used to keep mine as an impersonal online diary, so in doing so I have to write down everything that happens. But after doing that for so long and reading back over stuff, I'm now only really interested in posting different things I do. It's better for people who read my blog, and for me if I ever look back.

Date: 2007-01-17 04:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lumy12.livejournal.com
I've never used a diary of any kind to record everything that happens, even when I was wee. Better to focus on the important stuff. "Important" being subjective, of course.

I started this blog for family and friends to read to sort of replace email... which it essentially has, except none of them read it! (except my bro) I never thought of it as a place to meet people online and develop online friendships but that's the best thing about it now.

When do we get to see cute pics of you and Tammy?

Date: 2007-01-18 12:11 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kevthejedi.livejournal.com
I'm glad you put that in your blog and not mine - Gemma is my girlfriend, not Tammy! I barely speak to Tammy now.

See, you don't write about her enough, I'm getting the names mixed up :P

From: [identity profile] kevthejedi.livejournal.com
She asked me not to write about her, so I don't. I often want to though. But I'll get really personal if I do, and I don't want my public journal to be that personal.

Understood. Aaron was like that before, now he says he doesn't care. Still, I try not to get TOO personal. And since we're no longer a couple it's a bit different.
