Okay, so I don't want this journal to just kinda sit in between FridayFive memes. I should at least post something in between, yes? Yes.

I finally got around to doing my taxes Monday. I need to NOT spend my tax return money on stuff I don't need. I need to remember that most of the stuff I want to buy does NOT fall into this "need" category! Every year I do like to send an extra house payment though (designated as principle only)... if I can. I've done it twice. I'm debating taking that money and buying a really kickass vacuum instead. Seriously, there is no vacuum out there that can handle the abuse I put on it, apparently - I've ruined cheapy vacuums and expensive ones alike.

I could actually do both and still have money leftover, but it wouldn't be alot after I pay myself back for all the times I've dipped into savings this past year.

This new default icon of mine does not make me gung ho about my nonexistant diet >.< I really like the idea of eating better, but I just fail at it so miserably. The bad stuff is CHEAPER. And I'm all about the money when it comes down to it.

The not slacking at work thing is going pretty well. At first it was hard to fight temptation but now I can honestly say I'm not all that tempted. Whew! I still slack a bit in my downtime, just not online (or I hop online only briefly).

Aaaaaand the tongue thing is gone, but now I have this throbbing head thing. It's not a headache, but it's like... the throbbing of a headache without the pain, if that makes any sense. It started last night and when I woke up today it's still there. Hmph. My body is as psychotic as my brain.

Not gonna watch tonight's Lost until tomorrow. Too tired.

Sometimes you can get TV headaches when you expose yourself to that too much by playing video games/watching too much TV/being on your computer a lot. They're not the actual pounding headaches, just the basic thing you've described, so maybe you're getting them cuz you have your laptop screen right in front of you at all times. Solution: go be one with nature. Go plant a tree or frolick in some daisies or hell, dance around some cactuseseses (cacti, whatever, I prefer my word).

Really I've barely been on my laptop the past few days though. But yeah, Tuesday was "Wendy day" and I was sitting on my ass in front of the computer for 10 hours... hmmm. Wouldn't it go away overnight though? But that was my night of bad sleep, my "omg what if I oversleep and don't get payroll done" night. The last one before the time change. Stupid people changing their clocks, making me get up even earlier!

I don't feel anything now but it might be cuz my Star Wars wakeup call is playing.

headaches usually come from not enought water. yESH you must post more!
i got my papers in the mail thanks! i cant get a refund tho cuz cali's stingy.
i'll never understand why people pay their mortgage forward. unless of course you're planning to live in the house for the rest of your life, but even so they might lower interest rates in the future (perhaps due to Robot Wars) and you could refinance. but if you're ever going to sell it, it just dont-y make-a de sense!
you should at least eat some vegetables there very cheap!
i just got a bissel extralight steam cleaner and it's swell, no more stinky dogness!

I drink soda and coffee, they have water in them! And veggies have to be cooked (usually)... bah, cooking. You're right though I should really try a bit harder there.

You mean you don't understand why someone would send in an extra payment? Even if I sell it will help me because it's that much more I've paid off the principle. Very little of my monthly payments actually go towards the principle. But I love it here and am not wanting to sell.

Ohhh you were in my dream last night! You came to visit me, I saw Willow outside my living room window and was like "Woo Kate! Oh too bad I'm sick" - cuz I had a cold or something. I was scheduled for 2 jobs at once (2 jobs I quit years ago?) and was pondering which one to call in sick for, then I thought since you were here I should call in sick to both of them. Weirdness.

yeah i used to refinance mortgages and i dont understand why people do it. even if you do want to pay down the principle it really doesnt make a difference in how much less interest you will pay. not enough i think to be worth doing. for instance i had a friend who insisted on doing it cuz he made a lot of money at his job. the next year he got fired and couldnt pay his payments at all, you never know what might happen, so you're better off putting it in the bank for a rainy day. if a person has tons of extra money, they can get a shorter term loan, but paying one extra here or there isnt going to make much of a difference. or like, in ten years they could declare peace on Earth and lower the rate to 2% and you'd be all D'oh!

i dont like to eat cooked veggies very much, except for okra and kale. maybe some of those baby carrots or some cold green beans with dip? just dont bother eating celery or iceberg lettuce they do nothing for you.

aw thats cool! i dont dream about anything really but some sort of apocalypse world! but i dont make myself wake up with an alarm clock usually so then i dont remember them. i wish i could be like other ppl and have normal dreams! one time i had been watching sw for days and managed to dream about Anakin, but he was just killing me.

hey why'd you give me the death glare? or maybe just cuz you know i like that photo. anyway i dont think the water in soda and coffee is good for you. it will certainly keep you alive but i feel much better after starting drinking water this yr. especially out there in that furnace!

I drink like 3 gulps of water a day. That's more than I used to. I would just rather have something with taste. I do like milk, that's healthy!

I had to put the air conditioning on in the car today, ew.

And they say if you make one extra payment a year you can knock like 10 years off your mortgage or something. It makes more sense when you look at the amortization thing. But yeah, if I can't afford it, I don't do it. Like when I get a new car next, I won't do it, I'll be all about trying to get that car paid off fast. But I plan on running this one into the ground so it'll be years and years, Hondas can go to like 200,000 miles!

And yeah the deathglare was because I know you love Gothy!Hayden :)

u should get a Prius!! it's the coolest car ever. i took him out on the freeway yesterday and he's super fast! i'm trying to switch to VitaminWater instead of soda. it's good!
that doesnt make much sense cuz then you could pay 1 extra payment for 3 yrs in a row and be done! weee!

Maybe it was 5 years? I dunno. Bah, math. And you wouldn't be done that soon because you can't pay all that interest - er, unless you DO pay the whole darn thing, but who's rich enough to do that?

You will be, when you become a famous movie star, Party Girl 2!

I'm really anal with money too, to the point that I went £500 overdrawn to avoid taking out of my savings. D'oh!

Eeep, that's bad! Don't get overdrawn, don't you have tons of fees and crap when you do that? Or maybe it's different over there.

I do have my checking and savings linked so if I screw up, I don't bounce checks. But then I get docked like $9 for it (which I didn't realize the first time I let that happen, whoops! Never again!)

I have to pay interest, but I have an agreed overdraft that I'm allowed to go into without major charges.

I don't write cheques, cash only, then I know exactly what I'm spending!
