Author's Notes: I don't know why this morphed into A/O (more like HINTS of A/O). I also don't know why I'm reposting this crap to my own journal - well, okay, yeah, it's just that I'm anal and I have everything else here :)
“Not this lecture again…”
“Don’t roll your eyes at me, Padawan.”
“Sorry, Master. But there must be something you like about the Chancellor?”
“The only redeeming feature I’ve found is that he's clearly a patron of the arts because he goes to the opera."
“But you don’t even care about ‘the arts’!”
“I don’t?”
“…You do?”
“Not particularly. But I’ve never said as much to you, so you would be wise not to make assumptions, my young Padawan.”
“I knew it. You don’t seem like the opera type.”
“And what type is that?”
“Chancellor Palpatine.”
“I shall consider it high praise not to be comparable to him in any way.”
“Aww, I bet that’ll make him sad when I tell him how you feel.”
“Anakin! You are not to repeat any of this to him!”
“Relax, I’m just kidding – you get mad so easily, you know that? Maybe you oughta work on that. Jedi aren’t supposed to give in to their anger.”
“I’m not mad. You’re just so…”
“Hmm? I’m just what?”
“You’re infuriating, that’s what.”
“I try!”
“You succeed.”
“What else am I?”
“You’re… late, if you keep this discussion going any longer.”
“He doesn’t care if I’m late, he knows I have Temple business and stuff. And gee, Master, you just missed out on a perfect chance to express your true feelings for me.”
“My true…? Anakin, you’re incorrigible!”
“Let me help you – you can start by saying, ‘Anakin, you are the handsomest, bravest, most talented Jedi I’ve ever known—“
“Jedi Padawan. You’re not a Jedi yet.”
“Whatever! Talented Padawan then. ‘And thinking of you makes my insides turn to mush…’”
“Ugh. I don’t think it’s my insides so much as your brain.”
“You’re blushing! You do have feelings for me, don’t you!”
“We are not having this discussion. Go meet the Chancellor, you need to be back here and in bed at a decent hour.”
“In your bed?”
“ANAKIN!”
“Okay, okay, calm down. See you later, Master, don’t miss me too much!”
“I won’t give you a moment’s thought.”
“You can miss me a little bit.”
“Just not enough to make my insides mushy?”
“Ha! Yeah. So um… bye.”
“Now you’re blushing.”
“Bye!”
