I’m in a rambly mood today. I’ll try to stick to each subject header for your skimming convenience.

Work. Yesterday my boss came into my office and closed the door. My first thought was "oh yay juicy tidbit time" – followed by "oh noes does she know I still get on the internet sometimes?" – and then when she started talking, a feeling of dread. She started out talking about utilization being down (meaning we’re not doing so hot on our bottom line) and how we have to respond to that. The easiest fix is to cut salary. Cue panic. She assured me in the next breath that no one’s getting laid off and no one’s salary is being cut – that’s what they’re trying to avoid. Whew! So the solution is to save on rent by merging some of our offices together. She was very positive about this and I can see the advantages; it’s a very do-able thing, the way it was presented. But is this the first step towards demise? What happens next time we have to cut back somewhere? We’ve acquired a few companies recently that are really going to help us out... I suppose I shouldn’t worry about such things.

In my travels to deliver paychecks twice a month to our local offices, I’ll have a new one to go to, and silly as it is I’m scared I’ll get lost because it’s along the one diagonal street in the whole Valley and directionally-challenged people like myself avoid it like the plague.

That thing that makes me hate myself. I still don’t want to go into that too much, but some of you have asked so... yeah. I’ve been having bad dreams about it and I just wish the whole thing would be over and done with but it’s not. Basically I trusted someone I shouldn’t have and it’s most likely going to cost me around $3000.

LJ stuff and RP. Let’s see… I fail at doing datapad entries for my RP characters, and I used to be so good about that. I blame the fact that I don’t post as often now so threads take longer and I don’t like doing them in the middle of threads because something could happen in the thread. And… yeah, I also get lazy, just like everyone else. It shouldn’t really bug me. I’m just silly.

I think I’m the Wednesday editor for jedi_news now. I think. I volunteered to do it but I guess my wording made it sound like I didn’t really WANT to do it and would do it until someone else comes along? It’s just not my favorite day as I’m busier then than I am on Mondays and Thursdays. The only day I would refuse to commit to is Tuesday, because every other Tuesday I’m too busy to get online for long. Anyway, my status there is still back-up, so I’ll have to pester senatorsfan to send me the screened comments from her Tuesday posts… and if you look in the userinfo it says "available" for Wednesday – I want my name there, dangit! Maybe the mod just hasn’t gotten around to updating it yet but she DID remove the old Wednesday person so I don’t think that’s the case. I shall repeat myself: It shouldn’t really bug me. I’m just silly.

Baseball. My team plays Aaron’s team this week. And we stole a game from them last night! Bwahaha! Aaron’s driving down here right now so we can go to the last game of the series tonight. Fun times. He said he also wants to go to some of this weekend’s games (NOT his team, but he just loves baseball and doesn’t care) but I’m on the fence about that. I love to be there but it does cost money, and neither of us has a lot right now.

Love and hugs to sweet_panda -- I kinda sorta (not really) said goodbye at your party so hopefully you won’t miss me too much tonight. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of Rennies there to send you off hung over!

Fic. Ugh. I have two unfinished ones and that just bugs me. I really don’t like things hanging over my head like that. Well, except the painting I’ve been working on since 1998 and really should just throw away. I guess you can’t rush genius. Ha! I’m no genius. darthsemicolon, how many unfinished ones do you have? I’m pretty sure it’s more than two. Make me feel better ^_^ And elledwen, did you ever start that one you mentioned to me? *pester pester*

Music. I FINALLY got the Killers album to torrent. I was so close to *gasp* going out and buying it. Need to get Silver Sun Pickups and the Bravery, unless my bro’s already done those, I know he likes them too. Need to update my iPod – it’s a harder task than it sounds like. I have a hard time deleting things! When I bought the thing 2 years ago, 1500 songs sure seemed like a lot to me. I should have just bought the regular kind, not the mini, I guess. Bah -- the mini is cute and green and pretty. I need to make a “Friday” playlist.

And, to sort of mix RP and music a bit, elledwen - I’ve decided that Gwen Stefani’s “The Sweet Escape” is Ash’s favorite song. Yes, NPCs can have favorite songs, shut up. So Aoife likes it too, by default, because she likes everything Ash likes. *pets her little sheep* Oh! That reminds me of a little mini semiplottyish thing I was gonna ask you about. Remind me to chat with you on AIM and hopefully I’ll remember then (it might be a couple days).

Misc. I was invited to J's graduation! Yay! It's been forever since I've been to a high school graduation. I wonder if I'll cry. I'm such a dork.

Ohhhhh I forgot one! Food. I've been craving Long John Silver's like whoa. I've had it three times in the last week. I need to stop, it's expensive to eat fast food all the time, not to mention fattening! I want it again now too >.> We have a new employee with the last name Plankey, and whenever I see her name, I think about their fish planks and chicken planks. Gah!

I've never had an iPod, and I did buy me a small MP3 player, but I don't really use it. Trouble is I can't use it on my bike or at work, and then any other time I'm either out socialising or sleeping - bit of a waste really.

Can fic not be finished at any time - "There was a nuclear explosion and they all died - the end"!

Yeah that sounds like a waste. I use mine at work all the time. And I've meant to take it on walks around the neighborhood but I never take the time to do that, and soon it will be too hot! Ack!

You should read HP - you're going to be so spoiled after the 7th book comes out. It's gonna be all over the internet! I had Book 6 spoiled for me and it pissed me off so much I vowed to hole myself up all weekend when Book 7 comes out and stay off the internet until I'm done with it. If I don't finish it over the weekend, then I still stay off until I'm done. *sage nod*

I knoooooow. I read on the slower side; I like to imagine everything that's happening, not just race along to get to the end. But with Book 7 I may just end up racing. I can reread it as slowly as I want later.

The Sweet Escape is SO an Ash song. I actually really like it. The rest of her new album is kinda crap though.

I haven't started any fics in a while (unless you count the psuedo plot fic for Qui-Gon!plottiness, which I don't). I want to write that one but it's a bit difficult given the details of it (that one particular line wreaks havoc with my inner-Ani/D-ness). The last thing I wrote was the Ani/Ferus thing.

Also, can I yoink the Killers from you at some point. Pretty please?

OMG now I'm hungry for Long Johm Silver's. And the closest one is probably in the US! Baaah! I fail at my diet. I had McDonald's last night. But I'm having caesar salad tonight I think. I dunno. I hope so anyway.

I've been failing at doing datapad entries for my characters too. But then, some of them don't actually do them. Cause, well, you know, not everyone in life likes writing in a journal. Ferus, Stass, Olee, and Mace don't really. Qui does religiously. Or he's meant to. But I reckon soon enough, he's going to be rendered crazy. >.< Ani likes to but doesn't because he's paranoid they'll be used against him in a court of law someday. The rest of my characters I haven't really decided about yet.

Yeah, I have that with Depa too - she COULD do them but it's not really in her character to do them very often. But Aoife and D! supposedly write them all the time. I fail!

Nope, not on tonight :( I probably will be tomorrow though because I don't really want to go to 2 games in a row, I like to space it out a little more than that! Unless we somehow magically score great seats or something.

I've only recently discovered the joy that is Long John Silver's. I never ate it 'til a year or so ago when Aaron and I were driving around looking for a place to eat at, and he suggested there. He doesn't even like seafood, but he said they have the best chicken - so true!

Long John Silver's is pretty good, especially their crispies! I'm afraid to eat there too much now though, because my fiance is allergic to okra, ours cooks okra and I don't want to accidently kill him! :-o

Really, I am almost tempted to go in there myself and change your bloody status, since no one else seems to be able to get it together.
