Yeah, I'm a whole day late now, but I just finished watching the Lost season finale tonight and I have to babble a bit. I kind of suck at writing reviews so this is more just stream-of-consciousness type rambling.
*LOST SPOILERS AHOY!* Run away if you've not seen it yet.
First of all... Charlie. Ohhhh how sad. As soon as they started that "we're killing a major character" music, I started sobbing. I was really hoping that Des's visions didn't mean what we thought they did, but I wasn't surprised.
I was pretty sure Bernard, Sayid, and Jin were okay because if they don't kill people on-screen, they're not dead. (Yay Locke! I'll get to him later) Hell, even if they do kill people on-screen, they're not always dead. *cough*Mikhail!*cough* Dude, that guy must be a cat disguised as a human. He's used up... 3 of his lives now? And yet he lives! I kinda like him, though, so I'm glad.
The whole flash-forward business... that shocked the hell out of me. SO glad that wasn't spoiled. I saw someone made a comment that the people who criticize the episodes are the ones who read spoilers. Well, yeah! I mean, without that punch, it's nowhere near as exciting and entertaining. Anyway - maybe I'm dumb but it never ever occurred to me they were in the future. Even when Kate showed up - I was like "Whoa, they knew each other before? WTF?" I still couldn't grasp it. It finally sunk in when he talked about taking those flights, wanting the planes to crash, wanting to go back, how they shouldn't have left... holy shit. I... really hope that this is some kind of alternate reality flash-forward. It has to be, because it's so dismal - right? Like... the Ghost of Christmas Future coming to show Jack what his life might be like. Not at all indicative of what's going to happen.
Is Lost trying to lull us into a false sense of security regarding Jack and Kate's survival, so now they can kill one of them and shock us? Heh.
Or... do they somehow leave, but we're not going THAT far into the future... and they end up going back?
Who's the guy in the coffin? It's apparently a guy, according to close-ups of the newspaper clipping.
Locke lives. YES. Glad my bro was wrong about that. YOU CAN'T KILL LOCKE! HE IS ONE WITH THE ISLAND! I don't think what he was doing in the beginning was a suicide attempt, per se - I think he just felt he was dying a long slow agonizing death and he wanted to end that. Although, knowing how the island heals people, that doesn't seem very logical... maybe the pain and the emotions were overwhelming him and he wasn't thinking clearly? WAAAAAALLLLLLLLTTTTTT! That was cool. Walt sure has grown up in a matter of... a month? Two months? I think we're at approximately one month per season so yeah, a month. I wonder how many different babies have played Aaron so far.
So what's Locke going to do now? What's the deal with that Naomi chick? Who were these alleged evil people she was working for? Is Desmond going to get back there and save the day, thanks to Charlie's deathbed heroics? (is it pc to use the term "deathbed" if there's no bed involved? Heh)
Nice scene with Danielle and Alex. Awwww.
Um... what else. Oh yeah, I loved how Sawyer made sure Hurley didn't go with him and Juliet. Yeah he coulda been nicer, but he got the job done, making sure he didn't participate in their "suicide mission." How awesome that Hurley came to the rescue in his own way. And YAY for him getting on the walkie and being like "Yo, Others!" Ha ha ha.
Damn. Is it January yet?
