Mmmm, banana.
Jun. 27th, 2007 09:14 amEh Stad! So where did Alex move the board to? Or is it just done?
I swear I don’t work for Livejournal but... you guys could TOTALLY do what you were doing there over here. You wouldn’t have to post updates to your own personal journal. You guys could just create a bunch of communities to post to, to keep things on-topic the way you like. And you can set them so that no douches can join – just make them all with moderated membership. You could put something in the userinfo about it being a "closed community" if you wanted. You could post everything "friends-locked" so no one can see stuff but you guys (or whoever else you allow into the communities). On your personal journal you could make filters so if you wanted to post something that say, only Alex and Dazza could see, you could - I could show how to do all this stuff.
You wouldn’t have any ads (once logged in), unless you choose to make the account level "sponsored." And it’s totally FREE. I pay for my account because I like the extra features, but a basic account is free and you can do everything you were doing on the board. And LJ doesn’t go down as often as those boards do. They have periods of slowness, or funkiness with comment-posting, but really not very often.
Yes, I’m selfish – I’d love it if you guys moved here because I’m on here all the time, and I forget to check on the forums I belong to – even with links on the side of my journal I forget.
I think you’d really like it. You wouldn’t have to go crazy joining lots of communities and finding LJ buddies and stuff. You could just use it to connect to those friends if you wanted.
Click on my profile (the "So be it, Jedi" link up there) and just poke around looking at stuff, my communities or my friends or whatever. Of course you won’t be able to see the "locked" stuff but plenty of it is unlocked, and all the profiles are public. Or link Alex over here and tell him to give me the NPMB Anti-Blog spiel, so I can debate with him! Bwahaha.
You could of course do this on Greatest Journal... or Insane Journal... or maybe even *shudder* MySpace? (but I don't think that one's as good for this type of stuff) Just let me know where you’re posting your stuff now, if you’re on another board... or if you’re reverting to the archaic ways of email, copy me on the stuff I’d be interested in.

In other news... the little gray kitten let me pet him/her last night! First time! The poor thing was starving and desperate to keep eating, I think. But hey, I'll take what I can get.
And I have to watch the Miss America pageant next time because one of my Avon customers is the mother of the newly crowned Miss Arizona. Woo! I haven't watched that since I was a little girl.

Date: 2007-06-27 05:38 pm (UTC)I'm thinking about doing something like this just a side thing to make some extra spending $$ for us. I've been looking into some different options, like selling Mary Kay (which has a $100 start up cost :-( ..and I don't wear much makeup, so I would seem like a hypocrite), selling Avon, doing some advertising work on the side, and just working on different websites to get some extra $$.
Thanks!

Date: 2007-06-28 11:45 am (UTC)No, we're fine with our NPMB. And the first rule of the NPMB is you do not talk about the NPMB. No we don't want an LJ or a MySpace or anything like that. Alex's board is fine (don't worry about the old deletion note on top). Maybe you stumbled on an old link to his old board, which is finally gone due to inactivity. The black one is fine.
What you ought to be doing if you were gonna personally involve me in this post, you should relate it to the fact that you know Miss Arizona's mom - this is a newsflash to me! So, like, HOOK A BROTHA UP!

Date: 2007-06-28 02:15 pm (UTC)Well it's good to hear that she can do some decent music on her own after all, cuz I can't bear to listen to your stupid song, the girly poptastic "Sweet Escape." I see on your Itunes that it also features Akon - BLECH. No wonder it sucks. I always switch off of it so fast on the radio that I never get to an Akon part. If she just stays away from the mega-poppy crap and the pop hip hop junk, she can make nice music. But that's the problem with her doing solo stuff, cuz it gives her the chance to do that aforementioned garbage, cuz she can't do it in No Doubt. By the way, I heard No Doubt are either back in the studio again or planning on it soon, so that's good news.

Date: 2007-06-28 07:48 pm (UTC)And as for Miss Arizona - it's actually Mom's coworker, so Mom would have a better chance of hooking you up! But I've met her before (the mom, not the daughter) because she's come and picked stuff up from me here at work when she's been off.
Alex's board is fine? I thought it had to be moved? Can you email me a new link or something? I think I might just have to figure out why it wasn't letting me log in. I dunno.
I don't remember anything about bananas... I don't think?
The second rule of the NPMB is... you do not talk about the NPMB.
