swficchallenge's #2011-01: New Beginnings ((originally posted here)) And oh, I might as well apply it to fanfic50's "Close" as well. I'm determined to finish that claim but with fewer prompts left, it's harder to write fics that do double duty :)

It was as if the Force itself had exploded inside him.
Magnificent.
Anakin pulled back, breathless, dazed... exhilarated. Palpatine calmly collected him in his arms and kissed the sweat from his temple.
"That was..." Anakin had never been great with words.
"Yes, it certainly was," replied the Chancellor drolly. Good thing I don't mind a little pain. Quite worth it, though, oh yes.
"I've never felt like this before," Anakin gushed. The newfound post-coital bliss was making him giddy. "This is like... this is the start of something wonderful, isn't it!"
It was a statement, not a question. Anakin knew with all the confidence of his youth that whatever this was, it would last Forever. "Indeed it is... assuming you care to see me again," Palpatine teased.
"What?! Of course I do!" Anakin responded with predictable indignation. "I want to see you every day! I'll make it happen. I'll find a way."
The possessive vibes radiating from his young lover were intoxicating. Palpatine allowed himself to enjoy them, to savor this moment of closeness to his future apprentice. Even so, he remained aware of the reality behind their union. I let you fuck me to make you feel this way, young one. Simple fornication leads you to believe we are bonded in a way that no one else is... you feel so powerful, so proud... you haven't seen anything yet, dear boy.
He wondered how long it would be before Anakin confessed his love for him. Palpatine had already crafted the perfect response for the occasion, of course.
"Sir? You're so quiet... are you as happy as I am?"
Palpatine smiled. "Happier."
