This week's
thefridayfive is about... drinks with zip!
1. What drink wakes you up best in the morning? COFFEE. Like whoa.
2. During the day, what do you drink to keep going? More coffee or a soda, but I don't actually drink a lot during the day.
3. Do you drink the recommended 8 glasses of water per day? Why/why not? Oh hell no. I don't like going to the bathroom every 15 minutes! I only want water when I'm really thirsty. I think I posted about this in my journal a while back about how the "8 glasses per day" is misleading, because the water that's in food counts towards your daily recommended amount. I was like NEENER NEENER to that. I don't think I know anyone who drinks that much. My brother drinks a lot of it, but even so, it's maybe like equivalent to 4 glasses?
4. What are the ingredients of your favorite mixed drink? (Doesn't have to be alcoholic!) Kahlua + vodka + milk. Mmmmmmmmm. The butterbeer I'm drinking right now is pretty good, though. (buttershots + frangelico + cream soda)
5. Are you a coffee drinker? How do you take your coffee, if so? *points to question #1* I can't drink it black, I have to put some crap in it, but I'm not very particular about what it is. At work, my first cup will have liquid creamer + sweetener, and if I go for a second or third cup, it/they will have powdered creamer + sugar. I'm not quite sure why I do this. At home, I have either powdered or liquid creamer, whatever I happen to have on hand. And I love Splenda but sugar is cheaper so I switched back to sugar. I guess if I ever start this diet I keep talking about, I should change that. Heh. I also like milk or honey in it.
And Starbucks, of course, is a treat. The frappuccinos are a REAL treat in the summer! Mmmmmmmmmm.
~
Okay, that was more than anyone wanted to know about my coffee habits.
I think I'll keep doing the R.E.M. titles only until I run out of the ones I've already compiled.
Let's see, can I babble about anything else no one cares about?
Why did I delete my Hayden coffee icon? *pout*
Okay, I'll shut up now. One of these days I'll do a meaty, content-y post.

Date: 2008-07-04 03:55 am (UTC)I actually have an icon post where I used to dump old icons - that way I could store them with the username of who to credit. I did this for a long time until I realized I never wanted to go back and use the old ones, I just kept going for new ones.

In his defence, I actually enjoyed Jumper, and will be buying it when it's out

Thank you, Jess is looking lovely as always. Have you seen Awake yet? I think I will have to see it at some point.

Date: 2008-07-04 02:44 pm (UTC)I think I inherited my usual lack of thirst (if you can inherit such a thing?) from my mom. She brings me Chinese food when she visits and never wants anything to drink with it. (or maybe she just doesn't trust my beverages! Gah! Hehe)

Date: 2008-07-04 02:58 pm (UTC)Well both my parents drink an INSANE amount of tea each day, so perhaps i got it from them too.
Althought in the ancient Indian medicine system of ayurveda we're believed to be made up of a balance of three doshas (vata, pitta & kapha). Although people don't tend to be a proper balance of the three, and have a predominant dosha or constitution. My predominant physical dosha is pitta, which is fire - and pittas tend to have the biggest appetites and need to drink a lot (and get cranky when we don't eat ;D). So i usually blame that for my thirst! If you're curious google ought to help you find a quiz to see which one you are :).
Pitta
Date: 2008-07-04 04:39 pm (UTC)You're a Powerful Pitta
Remember that most people are a combination of all three doshas, with one being the dominant. While no person exhibits every single quality of their dominant dosha, here are the typical characteristics of a Pitta:
Element: Fire. Like a blaze, you're sharp, fierce and difficult to control.
Your manner: Intelligent, purposeful, fearless.
Your best traits: Honest, fair.
Your worst traits: Intolerant, sarcastic, proud.
Your best job: You have a developed sense of responsibility and would make a great public speaker or leader.
Learning style: You learn quickly, but you'll only remember something if you want to.
Body frame: Neither petite nor heavy; well-proportioned.
Your skin: Sensitive. Look for gentle products and stay away from those with harsh chemicals. Ayurveda recommends that all skin types purchase products made from natural ingredients like vegetable oil and herbs, but this is especially true for you.
Favorite foods: Sweet and cool.
Worst foods: Spicy or oily; sour or salty.
You look beautiful in these colors: Cool greens and blues; silver.
Ayurvedic tradition recommends you: Do everything in moderation, because you can quickly burn out. Your tendency to become easily angered puts you at risk for ulcers and high blood pressure.
