Does anyone else on my f-list watch HBO's True Blood? Besides [livejournal.com profile] bitter_moss, that is :)

I believe I've watched all the episodes these past 2 nights, but I'll have to check online to be sure. Tomorrow when I'm not all falling-asleep-like.

As soon as I'm sure I'm caught up, I must find icons, join comms, all that jazz. I think someone at work watches it too, I'll have to sniff her out.

How sad, this is the closest thing I have to a vampire icon. Hee! *pets Dooku*

Yaaaaay! Do you know how many episodes there have been so far? Is it 8? I think I only saw 7 listed last night, and tonight there was 8, which could possibly be because they added the one that aired Sunday night. Yes? (I watched them on On Demand but now I'll watch them "live" when I can)

Episode eight aired on Sunday, I believe, yes. I don't get HBO, so I download them.

Thanks. I had one thing spoiled for me when I stupidly went to look at icons, and I vowed I wouldn't be that dumb again (it was fairly minor, I suppose, but still!)

Another person on my flist just posted an entry about starting to watch that show like an hour ago. I'm thinking I might give it a shot...usually I don't care for vampire stuff as I'm an avid Buffy fan and IMO no one else gets the vampire lore down right. But since everyone seems to be enjoying it, maybe I'll check it out :)

I've been meaning to watch it since it started, just got more and more behind... I didn't expect to watch all of it so fast but it was really good! I loved Six Feet Under, and vampires are cool, so I figured I'd enjoy this. Tell me what you think of it if you do check it out :)

I'd say welcome to the darkside, but y'know you were already here *grin*

It sucks having to wait 'til Sunday to see what happens next! (heh, same thing happened when I started watching Lost, I got spoiled doing marathons to catch up)

Hee yeah i had to wait a wait between seeing the first ep and the second (about two months or even more) as a friend gave me a CD with a leaked copy of the pilot. You can imagine the suspense!!)

Oh Lost i lost (*groan*) my place with that near the start of the third season and want to catch-up, will marathon it sometime. But there's so much tv to watch and so little time. You watching Dexter? I think that and the Sarah Connor Chronicles are the best things on teevee atm, followed by True Blood of course ^_^.

Two months! How painful!

No, I don't watch Dexter, but have heard good things about it. There really is too much good stuff on, I always say "I don't need to watch another show" - but one little HBO series won't hurt, since losing both Sex and the City and Six Feet Under I never got into another one so this could kinda be like a replacement show for those... (hehe, must justify watching TV, I guess!)

When my soap opera goes off the air, though, that's it, no more soaps for me.

Oh, I was sure this was going to be about your new RP!! No, I don't watch it. I don't get HBO.

I watch it! I love True Blood, I really liked the (first) book too (haven't got to read the others yet).

I didn't even know there were books! Awesome.

Yep it's based on a series of books. I am gonna search them out at the library but from what i've heard i think the teevee series may atually be better. I must say i don't find most vamp books to be terribly high quality ;p.

I'm still avoiding Twilight like the plague :)
Though I might watch the movie JUST for Robert, as I think we discussed!

Hee, well after reading Breaking Dawn (which i did manage to finish which is more than i can say for the Eragon series!!) i'd recommend avoiding it and sticking to the movies. Shorted and with tasty tasty eyecandy!

Dead Until Dawn is much different from Twilight in my opinion. In a really good way too.

Yeah, the first one is Dead Until Dawn (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/301082.Dead_Until_Dark). They follow the same plot line, but there are a lot of things in the show that aren't in the book. It's one of those (rare) things where I like both the book and the show, but in different ways.

Thanks!
It'll be awhile before I get to them, I'm sure, but maybe that's something I could do in between seasons. Damn the internet - I used to have much more free time for reading :)

Yeah, this is the first year in a long while that I've been reading again. There's just never enough time to do all the fun stuff!

For what it's worth though, I did read the whole book in a day. Sometimes I get it reading moods!

I haven't read a whole book in one day since the 7th Harry Potter book came out. And I only did THAT because I had the 6th book spoiled for me by waiting a couple weeks to finish it. I was determined that wouldn't happen again! I'm a pretty slow reader normally, I don't like to race through things. Ideally I'd be reading a chapter or two of something before bed but lately I've been staying on the computer too late and then I just kinda keel over. (doesn't help that I sleep with my laptop. LOL)

I watched the first episode last night and was both intrigued and sort of 'meh' over it. But I realize it's only the first show, so we'll see what I think when I get through the others that have aired so far. I always like to give something new I decide to watch a fair chance, and given that I loved SFU, I'm looking forward to playing catch up.

Let me know when you've seen them all so we can dish! I liked the first episode, but it's true that it does get better over time as you get more invested in the characters.

I'm not sure if someone up there ^ already said this...I'm too lazy to look.

But Christopher Lee (count dooku) played Dracula in the old Dracula film!!!

And Peter Cushing (grand moff tarkin) played Van Hesling in the Dracula film with Christopher Lee, and Dracula in another movie!

Spooky Star Wars fact of the day!
