"Child-porn defendant says cat is the culprit
Florida investigators say a man accused of downloading child pornography is blaming his cat. Keith Griffin of Jensen Beach is charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography after detectives found more than 1,000 images on his home computer. According to a sheriff's report Friday, Griffin told investigators that his cat jumped onto the computer keyboard while he was downloading music. He said he had left the room and later found 'strange things' on his computer."

I'm sitting outside. (well, in the AZ room) It's nice out here. We're having a real cold spell -- it's only supposed to be 105 today. People are excited about doing yardwork and such. Not me! I feel completely unmotivated to do ANYTHING right now, except maybe sleep all day. Ugh.

Yep! I have teh sloooooow connection of doom (i've disabled pictures unless i am looking at something specific to conserve data) & hundreds of pages of e-mails to catch-up on & webcomics to read and all the community cuts i need to make on lj first, before i can re-tackle the flist. Plus i keep getting caught in gchat which burns away my net time ;p.

LOL at you being motivated to sleep all day!!! That's about what I've been doing myself. I woke up way to early, did a few things, then decided to read for a bit...and ended up taking a nap! Only reason I'm up now, at NOON, is because my stomach decided it wanted feeding!!! I DO plan on being much more productive the rest of the weekend!!! Our weather will be a bit cooler than yours too. We're expecting a LOVELY 75 degrees today and about 80 tomorrow.

So he found a site to download music from that also deals in child porn, he accidentally downloaded the wrong stuff owing to his cat treading on a couple of keys but he just left the pictures on his computer rather than deleting them?
And he expects the courts to believe that story?
I imagine he'll be going to prison and serve him right.

Actually, Martha trod on my keyboard once and made the toolbar disappear and I had to figure out how to get it back again.

Cat! I saw this article in the paper this morning and thought of you: Crazy people opt not to use their AC for a whole year (http://www.azcentral.com/style/hfe/decor/articles/2009/08/08/20090808acless0809.html).

I, of course, thought they were insane at first. But after reading the whole thing I can kind of see where they're coming from.

HOWEVER - I value my comfort way too much to do anything of the sort!

I AC my house for my own comfort and because I don't want my cats to have to cling to a toilet to get cool -- I didn't like that part of the story! (but at least they turned the AC on for the kitties when they went on vacation)

To be fair, one time my hamster googled "Victoria Beckham naked", followed by "nude Penthouse bubble bath", and then "fail-proof ways to get chicks", when I was out walking my goldfish one night, so these things occasionally do happen. I feel bad for this Keith guy because, its like, no one's gonna believe him. Well, I'm believe his story, 100% of the way. Pets do weird crap sometimes!
