I finally saw Breaking Dawn
Dec. 10th, 2011 11:01 pmI cried. But then, that could be because I've been emotional since attending a funeral for a co-worker this afternoon. People do seem to drop dead more often around the holidays, don't they? It was the most gospel-y funeral I've ever been to.
Okay - how could Edward hear the baby's thoughts if the baby doesn't think in any kind of recognizable language? Do they explain that more in the book, or is it just one of those magical things we just accept? Unless he's just picking up emotions all Jedi-like and then verbalizing them for Bella? I wanted it to be a boy, but as soon as Bella said the names I knew it was a girl because I'd heard that girl name somewhere, I just didn't know who it was. And awwww Jacob! I love him. I wish Bella could be with both him and Edward.
I didn't think Bella would get killed off when there's another movie left, but I wasn't sure, so her "death" was sad to watch. She really looked horrible the whole time she was sick. They did a good job on that. So now she's a vampire? I was hoping she'd stay human until the very end and then ride off into the eternal vampire sunset, lol. I mean, the big appeal to my inner 13-year-old girl is the romance of everyone protecting the fragile little human. Oh well.
I thought I read somewhere that Edward eats the fetus, I'm very glad that didn't happen! Maybe that was from a fanfic? LOL.
I still want to read the books but I'm getting more and more curious about The Hunger Games. I'm only on Prisoner of Azkaban in my re-reading of Harry Potter so by the time I move on to anything else, both of those will probably be long over, but that's how I roll :) I guess I could break my little rule about only reading one fannish series at a time...
I better get to bed, I have a guy coming out to fix the desktop computer possibly as early as 8am tomorrow. Pretty much nothing works correctly on it now except the Sims but that's unplayable because the darn thing restarts itself randomly whenever it wants. Then tomorrow afternoon I'll be going to a Christmas show with K and her family, that should be a much more fun way to spend time in a church!

Date: 2011-12-11 01:11 pm (UTC)You have to read the hunger games books. I've never read a set of books so quickly. Such a good story. Stop Harry Potter and read it right away! :)

Date: 2011-12-11 06:16 pm (UTC)Oh really! Another glowing endorsement! Maybe I'll get a Barnes & Noble gift card for Christmas and check them out... though I can't abandon Harry :)

Date: 2011-12-11 04:00 pm (UTC)Probably the same way that he is able to impregnate a woman with a dead body that is not able to process food but is somehow still able to produce sperm - by purely being BE-AUTIFUL EDWARD THE SPARKLY SUPERCUTE-VAMPIRE. And - and this is a mild spoiler but I think you might already have guessed it - that baby is way SPESHUL!!!111!!!!, so of course it can think coherent thoughts already even though it's still a fetus, and I bet it also has perfect grammar and an impressive vocabulary.

I just got the Hunger Games on my e-reader. I'm really curious about them, too.

Date: 2011-12-11 05:44 pm (UTC)You probably confused "eats" with "bites out of Bella's body" - shortly before Jacob falls in love with it.
No, I haven't read or seen it. Yes, I still know what happens.
Hope your computer gets fixed okay. :)

Date: 2011-12-11 06:31 pm (UTC)Sigh, the guy has to come back, hopefully tonight. If what he's doing works, it will be awesome. If not, I'll probably get a new computer. He didn't even take my credit card info or anything and he left some stuff here. I think he looked around at all my Stuff and realized I wasn't about to pack up and take off with it. HA!
Also, he's a geek and therefore very cute, lol. Alas, a little too young for me. I've learned my lesson about the young boys! ...not that I'd want anything even if he were the right age. He's just eye candy!

Date: 2011-12-11 06:41 pm (UTC)The computer geek and I talked about Star Wars and Firefly and Lost! He was disappointed I didn't watch BSG. Like, he kept going back to it. It was a Cougar Test to see if I'd take the opening to hit on him and say we should watch it together. Ha!!!

Date: 2011-12-11 11:15 pm (UTC)It can be a difficult time of year for me thinking of the few people I've lost around this time.
Anyway, I got your card!! YAY!! :D It is being displayed on my mantle with the one other card I got so far. <3 <3

Date: 2011-12-12 03:33 am (UTC)Yaay! Yours was the first one I received :) I have quite a few already though. Nice to know there are some other early birds out there!

Date: 2011-12-12 03:59 am (UTC)Unfortunately because we never get a point of view from Edward we never know what he hears exactly. That section of the book is in Jacob's POV and he gets so pissed that Edward traded sides.
I guess what he can conclude is that since the baby is growing so fast physically and mentally maybe she can think in simple words??? The baby does learns to speak only a few days after being born, if I remember correctly.
I thought I read somewhere that Edward eats the fetus, I'm very glad that didn't happen! Maybe that was from a fanfic? LOL.
What a scary fanfic! No, he uses her teeth to rip open her uterus.
HP re-read! SQUEE! I stared Deathly Hallow on Friday and am already more than half way through.

Date: 2011-12-12 04:19 am (UTC)I suppose it makes as much sense as anything else if the baby has vampire hearing and can hear people talking while in the womb, if she's a speshul snowflake I guess she can understand?
Oh yay DH! I flew through that one the first time because I was determined not to be spoiled :)
