Good old Gordon
Mar. 31st, 2005 08:06 amJust a quick post before I change the CD in my car. Gordon Lightfoot rocks. Er - I mean, he kicks ass. I'm not so much into labeling as I was in my youth but if I HAD to pick an all-time favorite song, it would still be "If You Could Read my Mind." For you ignoramuses out there, don't confuse this with "Can You Read my Mind" from the old Superman movie! That was by some woman, people.
I could always relate this song to my current relationship/pseudo-relationship in the 90s. I really felt it defined me as a person. So listening to it now brings back some of those sad feelings, but in a good way.
The only other person I know who has this CD is Pat Clifford (may he forgive me for putting his full name here :) - my old buddy who is now married and living in... Florida? If memory serves me right.
How I would love to hang out with my old gang, drinking (illegally) up on Camelback Mountain (I think they've now closed off that area, probably cuz of kids like us) - for just one night. I wonder how different it would feel. Like, just recently I watched Reality Bites - I used to looooooooove that movie, so I got the 10th anniversary special edition dvd.... I watched it and identified more with the Ben Stiller character (a yuppy) than the others. I watched the interviews on there and the writer (who was 19 at the time, now she's 31 or 32?) said the same thing. Proof positive that I'm getting old!

You can even leave the link in a comment to help your count. Whee!
And now I'm all caught up, you're free to spam away again. Hee!
