The walk for autism research was today (thanks again to those who donated!) - I thought the website said this walk was 2.5 miles, but I'd be surprised if it was even a mile. We walked at a snail's pace, due to the kids'n'strollers'n'just-plain-slow people, and still got done in about 25 minutes. Not much of a workout, but hey, that's not really what it was about - I guess that was a convenient excuse to eat the goodies we brought in for our bakesale. And yes we kicked butt and BEAT our sister office in Surprise - woohoo! It would have been pretty close, but their only employee who really raised any money to speak of just sort of dropped off the face of the earth a few weeks ago. Very mysterious. So we don't count her share - God knows if she ever sent the money in.
Not only was it not much of a workout, but we were given 2 baggies of Krispy Kreme donut holes EACH just before the walk, AND we went out for Mexican afterwards. A tasty hole-in-the-wall place downtown called Carolina's. It's one of those places that's all ghetto on the outside but inside they run a thriving little business - the place was packed and it wasn't even 11:00 yet.
I did get a little more of a workout walking around Arizona Mills both Saturday and Sunday - A. had a card show there so I spent many hours there with him. I love that mall, it's just so darn far away I don't go very often.
Oh yeah - I forgot, I'm backdating this. So now you people are wondering, how the heck can she be talking about Sunday when it hasn't even HAPPENED yet? And now you know my dirty little secret. It's really Monday morning and I'm doing my pre-lunch journal entry. It's my slow week at work - every other week is kind of slow so I space out my work by getting online and stuff. It's silly, really, that I get overtime during payroll week but am not forced to go home early on the days that I CAN do so - I've been milking it for a few years now, I figure one of these days someone will wake up and realize I should be sent home. As long as my supervisor keeps signing the approval for overtime, though, I'm going to take full advantage!

Date: 2008-07-13 01:00 pm (UTC)Is this the same supervisor that fired someone a few weeks back and then took over when the other supervisor gave notice and quit? IS she still your supervisor now?

Date: 2008-07-16 03:02 am (UTC)No, this was still the one that gave 2 months' notice, I think. Then yeah, the other one would come in and take over and we would hire my current boss to take HER position, and she would end up running everything cuz she's AWESOME.
Oh the days of guaranteed overtime! No longer! But I do like leaving early too :)
