~Peelings.... woh woh woh Peelings~
May. 11th, 2005 03:29 pmThe sunburn I got on my arms a week and a half ago has finally resulted in peeling skin. Joy of joys! I'm usually very careful about sunscreen but had a momentary lapse of reason and didn't wear some this day. And now it pays off - how easily amused I am. There's something so satisfying about scratching the white patches of skin to make it fall down like snowflakes. Or dandruff. Nah, snowflakes are better.
The largest patch of skin I ever managed to peel off myself was probably a couple inches long, maybe not quite that, and it was from the Worst Sunburn Ever - when brilliant me decided to get ready for the 8th grade field trip to Big Surf by laying out in a bikini the day before, and falling asleep, and thus getting quite toasted before REALLY getting toasted. I saved the flap of skin for many years, just to see what happened to it. Eventually it stopped changing, it just looked and felt like wax paper. I may still have that somewhere, but if I do it's buried WAY down in the sentimental stuff, cuz I haven't seen it the past couple times I've moved. Maybe I grew a brain and decided it's stupid to keep a piece of dead skin. I hope not, I'd kind of like to find it someday. If anyone else finds it, they will just discard it, thinking it odd that a small piece of wax paper made its way into my stuff.
Jeez, first forks, now skin - what other trivial things can I talk about this week?
