Slacker Alert
Aug. 1st, 2005 09:33 amI just can't seem to start working today. Granted, it's Monday, but it's now 2 hours after my start time and I still can't get in a groove. I've done pretty much nothing but get online since I've been here. Reason #57 to never quit my job: I love getting paid to spend quality time on LJ!
Yesterday was a wonderful SW day for me. The morning was a wee bit scary - I borrowed someone's truck to go down to IKEA and pick up my new dining set - I am a small-car person, not too comfortable in anything larger than my Honda Civic. But I managed to return the thing in once piece with nary a scratch. Woohoo! Yay me.
My reward for this successful mission was, of course, what I do almost every weekend regardless of whether I deserve it or not - another Sith viewing. This time my bro came with. He of the "I'm DONE seeing it now" ilk. But it had been 2 months since he'd seen it, and he loves Nat, so he agreed to see it again. Unfortunately there were many annoying younglings around, so I couldn't cry as much as I do when I see it late at night practically by myself, but it was still great of course. I also found it annoying that the theatre I saw it at hadn't bothered to change the trailers - so instead of new movies we saw previews ("reviews" as my bro said, ha!) for stuff that came out in June and July. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO CHANGE THE TRAILERS OUT AFTER THE MOVIES COME OUT, YOU LAZY PEOPLE! (I can yell, I worked at a theatre forever)
Afterwards we went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, and I had forgotten how easy it is to pretend you're in the SW universe in there.... the columns inside give it a kind of SW appearance. Or maybe it's just me being a freak. Plus it was starting to storm outside, which always adds to the atmosphere. We talked about SW for much of the dinner.
Then at home we promptly played the Sith videogame - he's already beaten it like mega-times, but I'm still on the Padawan level - can't get past Anakin at the end cuz my Obi-Wan character kind of sucks.... he coached me though and I did better than I thought I would. Maybe tonight I will beat it.
Am I ever going to grow up?
I hope not :)
