"Beep Boop Beep!" (that's Artoo. Yeah.)
May. 18th, 2006 05:17 pmI had this Avon awards luncheon to go to today so I took the day off work. Yummy food, lovely single-serving friends, lots of clapping for people I don't know.
And I actually WON one of the door prizes! Out of like 700 people. The Force was with me.
I am now the proud owner of one of those rolling laptop carrier thingies. It's shiny. I love it! Now I just need a laptop to put in it. And places to drag the laptop around to.
And now I'm going out to dinner, only I'm still full from hotel food. Oh the problems I have, I know. No wonder I'm gaining weight again! Gah!
ETA: This is so cool! A. and I went to Cold Stone after dinner. (Yes, I'm really full now. Shut up. It's okay cuz I didn't eat a lot of my dinner and took home leftovers instead) There was a line nearly out the door. We were chatting about the Phoenix Suns (basketball team) who are in the middle of the playoffs right now, so this city is kind of hyped up about them and stuff. The guy in front of us was there with his son, I presume, and he turned around and made a comment to something A. said. So the 4 of us were chatting about the Suns for a few minutes. They get up to the front of line and order their stuff. We do the same. We go to pay and the Cold Stone guy says "That guy in front of you just paid for yours." He didn't even stick around for a thank-you or any kind of recognition. We went outside and saw them driving off and waved a thank-you.
People can be so awesome sometimes. Just like you said in your post recently,
