"I will deal with this Jedi slime myself"
Jun. 12th, 2006 07:36 amMadonna was AWESOME. Dang, that woman can perform. Someone told me I might be disappointed because "everyone lipsyncs these days" - and with the amount of dancing she does, it would make sense that she couldn't sing on top of all that, but she's amazing and fully capable of singing and dancing at the same time.
I probably wouldn't have been able to remember the exact set list even if I'd posted it right afterwards, because my memory sucks, and I COULD just look it up online somewhere... yeah, I don't think I'll even attempt it now a whole 2 days later. She did 10 of the 12 new songs, and hit all the ones I like from that album, yay. She did "Like A Virgin"and I totally didn't think about
notfromajedi singing it at that one party... maybe, "Live to Tell," "La Isla Bonita," and "Lucky Star" but that was it for her 80s stuff. And "Lucky Star" was actually mixed with her new song "Hung Up" which confused me at first. (Yes, I'm easily confused)
She had this huge disco ball, which I'd heard cost $2 million, lowered on to the stage to begin the show - actually, lowered onto the end of the catwalk closer to us - which was good because she was sooooooooo far away as it was, nosebleed seats and all. And it opened to reveal her inside, with the ball turning into a flower-type thing. Boy, aren't my descriptions wonderful? I bet you feel like you were right there with me!
Lots of stage changes, lots of costume changes, lots of dancers disappearing into the floor (I loved that a bit too much)... definitely the most visually stunning concert I've ever been to. It was quite HOT though - Madonna always requests minimal air conditioning. But really, when do you go to a concert and NOT be hot? At least, in Phoenix. They're usually at an outdoor venue and it's hot 8 months out of the year so... yeah.
I met
sweet_panda's friend April "Spril" last night - we had fun eating Chinese food and splashing about in the pool. And then - and THEN! - Becca dressed up in her Anakin RotS costume! Complete with the Emo Hood of Doom and a shiny whizzy blue lightsaber which I SO want now. From a distance, in the dark, it was eerie how much she resembled him. She can walk like him, and can do more with the lightsaber than flail it around stupidly like I would. If she wears that costume when I'm drunk, she better watch out :P
In unrelated news... I really really want a laptop. The urge to buy one is not passing. I was going to maybe go out shopping for one yesterday but... well, I blame Amber. *grin* I won't really have time to tinker with it this week anyway so I can just wait.
Oh Monday Monday, how I hate you. I should be sleeping right now. I think the "sleepy" mood is my most used mood on here.

Date: 2006-06-12 03:28 pm (UTC)Also, would you be interested in NPCing for me? I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do yet, but an NPC will, in fact, be involved.

Date: 2006-06-12 04:06 pm (UTC)Sure! This is a "I can RP more at work than at home" kind of week though. Not sure if that'd be a problem?

Date: 2006-06-12 04:49 pm (UTC)Nah, that's fine. I'm available any old time. Just let me figure the bare bones of a plot out...I'm pretty sure that you'd be playing Sora Bulq.

Date: 2006-06-12 04:25 pm (UTC)And apparently, no one brings lighters to concerts anymore, they just hold up their cell phones. The lighters look better, IMHO.
