I set my alarm an hour earlier in the hopes that I'd get up and do yardwork.
Ha! I just snoozed the alarm for the whole hour. It's Monday - what was I thinking? I'll try again tomorrow. I will never do it any other time because it's too damn hot. Last year I did better during the summer because my neighbor would clean up my yard if I didn't, and that made me feel guilty. But now my brother lives there, and he doesn't care what my yard looks like (or if he does, he's not going to bother cleaning it up!).
In other news... last week I joined
swficchallenge - it looks friendly and laidback, and focused on shorter stories, so it seems like a good place for me. I SWEAR I don't have to just write Anakin/Palpatine but you know, the first challenge tickled the A/P muse. *sigh* Rated G, though. Get your minds out of the gutter.
I'm going up to the mountains again this weekend - finally! I missed the last 2 trips for various reasons. My plan is to go up Saturday morning and come back Monday night, as long as I can get Monday off.
People! Gah!!! Yes, I know I have a weakness when it comes to taking in cats, but that just has to stop. It's not fair to the cats I already house. Five is, admittedly, kinda pushing it. I joke about becoming a crazy cat lady all the time but really I don't believe in animal hoarding; I'm really not psycho, I promise. (at least not about this)
Remember the guy I persuaded into keeping the kitten he tried to push off on me? He doesn't want her now. She's messing up the house. She's too playful. "We can't handle it," he says. OMG! Do you not remember what kittens are like? Why did you want her in the first place? And thanks for telling me that if I don't want her, you're taking her to the pound. Real fucking nice. I generally can't stand it when people value STUFF more than an animal's life. My house is proof of this. Even when it's clean, there's evidence of cats everywhere you look.
Dear self: Repeat after me - It's not your job to save every cat in the world. She's a devil-cat, yes (she's the one I posted pictures of after I had her for Memorial weekend), but she's still a kitten, she's quite adorable, even if she does get taken to a shelter someone will surely adopt her. And if not... I really don't want to know. Because I'm already tempted to take her. Gryffin got along really well with her, and he's sort of an outcast from my other catsbecause he's a terrible bully, mostly.
I sent a whiny email to Dad and he responded with the appropriate DO NOT TAKE THAT CAT!!! email of doom. I told Aaron and he just laughed and said I need professional help. Heh.
That's right - "A" is Aaron! He doesn't care if I put his name on here now. In fact, he doesn't remember ever making a big deal about it in the first place. It had been several years since we discussed it, but still - I clearly remember him being paranoid that people were going to somehow find him through me in various online things that I do... he has this weird thing about not wanting to exist. He hides behind family members on all official government-related things. I don't fully understand this paranoia of his. Maybe he's a murderer! Eeeek!

Date: 2006-07-10 04:45 pm (UTC)Here (http://lumy12.livejournal.com/79539.html#cutid1)'s the post containing the buttloads of devil-kitty pictures. She of course is much bigger than that now. I haven't seen her since that weekend.
So... you want another devil-cat?
*passes on the guilt-tripping*

Date: 2009-04-03 05:01 pm (UTC)Ohhhh - this reminds me of my annoyance with the way NBC broadcasts their primetime shows. Which reminds me of ER. Which reminds me that I should let you know there's no Clooney in the finale. So you could just watch the retro hour and be done with it if you want. Though the episode itself was good!
