Another not-a-real-update.

I just have to mention this before I forget.

You know how I said I wanted to trade lives with my coworker (see last post)? I wasn't really serious - but this is still amusing. She went to the dentist yesterday and got some bad news: she needs a root canal. Ewwww! She's only 25 - aren't root canals for old people? I'll keep my not-needin'-a-root-canal life after all.

I'm flossing my teeth right now, thinking about it.

Yuck. Okay, so it IS possible. It just seems so old-person-ish to me. Young people get cavities and need fillings... old people get those plus they need root canals. Heh.

I had one when I was 27. That was an experience I never want to go through again. Nothing like having a needle jabbed into your gums several times and having the dentist talk to you while waiting for the novacaine to take effect. And my dentist wonders why I hate seeing him. Gee, I don't know.

Ewww. You poor thing! I need to go to the dentist again, but we switched insurances at work (again) and it's just a pain finding a new one and stuff. I'm so lazy.

I suffered through much orthodontia as a child; I do feel like I should be taking better care of my mouth to preserve the results of it.

My mom's had a bunch of root canals, but she probably falls under the category of "old". :P

I need to stop prodding the place where my gumline is receding with my tongue. That's probably not helping matters any.

It's very pretty, isn't it? I stole it from DH.net. They say to "credit the maker" but I can never tell who made what so I just credit DH.net when I use icons from there. *shrug*

I couldn't help but burst out laughing at that - I'm 21 and I've already had three root canals. This with me brushing and flossing religiously three times per day. But my dentist thinks I inherited my parents' bad teeth - my dad's mouth is full of fillings and crowns and my mom has had more dental work done than you can shake a stick at - so maybe I'm just an unusual case. Still, I laughed.

I'm just hoping I don't ever need another tooth pulled. One got infected last September and I spent a week of absolute hell before I could get in to see a specialist to take it out. Yowch. >.>

No, anyone can need them. It's an infection. ouch! :(
