Some of you may remember back in 2006 when I said I was gonna be better about going to the dentist.

Yeeeeaaaahhhh - now it's 2008 and I never did get in the habit of going again, and now I have a tooth that looks funky and is bugging me. I'll find out what's up tomorrow afternoon. I'm gonna need a root canal, I just know it! Waaa!

I'm very busy, I'll catch up with all y'all tomorrow, I just came on here to whine and run away.

Poor Wendy-nee-chan. She should have taken better care of herself. Someone should have nagged her to go to the dentist more.

I know, I need people to yell at me more about these things! Which reminds me, I forgot to tag this post...

I feel ya! I haaaaate the dentist - the receptionist who works for mine always asks me, "Why are you so grouchy when we phone you?" Gee, it couldn't be because you mutilate my mouth and leave me unable to form coherent words, could it? /sarcasm

Sucks that you're having tooth trouble! Personally if I had a choice, I'd prefer to get the sucker yanked rather than exercise heroic measures to save it, but that's just me. Anyway, I'll be crossing my fingers for you, and hope you can get it sorted out with a minimum of trouble.

Thank you muchly! I don't think it's beyond saving, hopefully it's just a bunch of plaque built up on it or something. (heh, probably wishful thinking) I don't want this one pulled because it would be somewhat noticeable, it's not a molar way in the back. It's not right in front either though, it's an in-between-er. Ugh. Why didn't I just GO every 6 months? I hope this new place sends me reminder postcards because THAT will make me make an appointment on time.

I know how you feel! I broke a wisdom tooth the other day and now am trying to decide if I want to go and pay all the money to have a dentist tell me that they are going to pull it when its not even bothering me in the least... good luck with all that!

Really? Just the other day? We are in sync! If it's not bothering you maybe you could just leave it be for a while. Heh. Thanks, I'm crossing my fingers it's nothing major.

I have that problem as well... about not going to the dentist regularly enough. And I, too, have a tooth that probably needs looking at. But I just can't get myself to make an appointment, and hear the nagging "oh you haven't gone to a cleaning in years..."

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

You're a brave soul. :-S

Don't put it off! Just do it! Especially since you have a problem tooth! ♥

I do remember you posting that as it happens! I do go regularly (every 6 months), and my dentist is a sadist. When I had my front two teeth rebuilt he did the first one without injecting anaestetic, decided it hurt a lot so then injected me to do the second one! How evil is that?!

OWWW!
Good for you, going so often! But maybe it's time to switch dentists? Heh. [livejournal.com profile] elledwen says dentistry in England sucks, though.

Nah, he's a nice enough guy, and considering how sadistic he is it's an extra incentive to keep my teeth nice!

Ah, I haven't been to the dentist's office in at least three years. I'm really starting to get worried about it, but most of the time I can't afford it, and when I can I completely forget about it. My school provides dental insurance, but I'm not sure if it's just for emergencies. Sigh.

Bloody privatised dentists. They should be included in the provincial health plan with all of the proper doctors.

Ohhh you should find out if cleanings are covered and take advantage of it! I've been paying dental insurance for years and still didn't bother going. But this place sends postcards so I won't put it off (was a pain before to have to remember, and track down the phone # and stuff. Postcards = luv!)
