I finally did a friday five
Apr. 11th, 2008 08:11 amThis week's
thefridayfive is about ch-ch-changes:
1. If you had the ability to legally change your name, would you? To what?
Nah, I like my first name now. In middle school I wanted to change the spelling to "Wendi" so I could put a little ♥ over the "i." But I'm glad I didn't. For my last name... Mondragon. That's my favorite last name ever and I don't really have a good reason for it, I just like how it sounds. But what do you mean "if"? I can change it if I want to. But why go through all that legal hassle?
2. What do you do with change that you receive from banks/purchases/find on the ground?
Put it in my purse. Spend it. If there gets to be too much I dump some out on the counter at home.
3. If you could travel back in time to change the course of one historical event, what event would it be?
Them's murky waters... as others have said, ripple effects and all. Also, if I somehow prevented a war from happening, who's to say it wouldn't happen 20 years later or so anyway? History repeats itself. I'd kind of like to saveJack the people on the Titanic, but that tragedy taught the world a lesson, as tragedies often do.
4. Would you rather live a safe, stable, moderately interesting life or one where every day was dangerous, volatile, and different?
Definitely safe and boring.
5. What do you think you'll be remembered for when you die and, if you could, would you change it to something else?
I won't be remembered at all. That's the sad thing about not having children. I've been thinking about death lately (two coworkers are currently out for deaths in the family, one expected and one not)... what will become of my crap after me and my brother are both gone? I imagine my paper journals will get tossed. I mean, who else would care to read all that crap about someone they don't even know? It's sad to think that our family line dies with us. Hopefully my brother will have kids someday!
Or maybe I'll be remembered for the paintings I sold. There are only three, and two were to the same person. But both of them were older than me, would they pass those down to their families, who won't even know me and may not care to keep them, and end up garage-sale-ing them or something. Weird to think of those "living" on after I'm gone. Like my LJ will!
