what am I doing?

This weekend's starting off quite... oddly. I was going to say "badly" but it's not all bad. If I weren't so careless and stupid even the bad thing wouldn't be THAT bad. Don't want to deal with that now, will be like Scarlett O'Hara and worry about it on a tomorrow that never comes!

Today I can't seem to focus on anything. I decide to do one thing and get sidetracked before I even start it. I look around and feel completely unmotivated to clean up the messy house. Do I want to be on AIM or not be on AIM. Do I want to waste time on the internet while feeling unmotivated or shut this off and just force my butt into gear. To go to work or not go to work... I'm pretty certain I won't go in this weekend, as I wouldn't get paid for it, and there's a chance I'll be approved for overtime next week so I should just wait.

To post or delete. Heh.

The bug guy came this morning. A new one again. He remarked on how amazing it was that I had all these cats and yet my house didn't have "that smell." Yay!

My cute little coffee machine that I've had for 13 years ((ETA: Only 10 years! I see that on its box now. Oops. I guess before that I was content with going to coffeeshops (nearly every day!) and then drinking the free stuff when I got an office job in 1997. I know I've been drinking coffee regularly since 1993)) appears to have broken. No wonder I can't get moving today! No coffee = cranky Wendy.

I should watch Sweeney Todd - I HAVE to watch it, a coworker let me borrow it and I'd feel bad if I didn't return it to her right away. But I should let that be a reward when I've actually accomplished productive things today, no?

I've never waited this long to go to emissions, either. It's due on the 15th and it's already the 3rd! Oh horrors!

Still no stimulus check. But some others at work hadn't gotten theirs either so maybe it's a regional thing?

Bah. I shouldn't post when I don't have interesting things to say. But then I may never update this thing. HA!

I'm on the computer here while I visit my parents. Just basically hanging out for the day (hence my presence online while Dad is out playing golf with my sister and her husband, Mom is upstairs cooking homemade chinese food for supper tonight, and my neice is sleeping in one of her seats up on top of the kitchen table -- hee). We're playing poker later on tonight, which should be fun.

You sound much like how I feel today. It's nearly two and I've just finished soaking in a hot bath and doing my hair. I need to clean my own messy house and really don't have the inclination to do so.

My sister called a short while ago and she's in rather the same mood. How odd is that? We've decided to meet up for dinner later, when she's also determined to drag me through Lowes and shop. She's constantly in Lowes or Home Depot these days it seems. Whatever, it will kill some time.

I have gotten my stimulus check, it was actually posted to my checking account on 4/28 and I only just noticed it today. Bonus money!!! I'm torn on what to do with it. Part of me wants to just save it and NOT use it to stimulate the economy which is what George W. wants us to do with it. And goodness knows I never want to do anything the way HE wants it done!!! On the other hand, that combined with the money I've been saving would be enough to purchase the flat panel tv I want and be able to pay if off in full the moment the credit card bill arrives. Hmmmm....decisions, decisions.

Of course, the other factor that is I need to call the cable company to find out how much it will affect my bill to add another cable box and HD service to my package. I'm on a promotional rate through July as a new subscriber, so I'm wondering if that will be impacted and if it is, if it's just a better idea to hold off getting the TV until I need to change my package anyway.

Way to much thinking for a rainy, overcast saturday!!

So you did take that bath! Huh, funny we're all in that blah mode. It's sunny and nice here though. Not too hot. It hasn't rained since February.

I think you Easterners are getting your money first! I'll use mine to get my teeth fixed the rest of the way (well, my gums) and whatever's leftover I'll probably go shopping with. Be a good American and go boost the economy! Buy your TV!

Actually they are being sent out according to the last two digits of your social security number. queen_meep sent me the link to this article (http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Taxes/Advice/SeeWhenYouWillGetATaxRebateCheck.aspx) about it.

The last two digits of my social security number are low, so I get an early check!!!

I had my return direct-deposited, so wouldn't THIS be direct-deposited too? Or was I supposed to request that somewhere? Ah well, looks like if I have to wait for a check it'll be another few weeks!

Direct deposit should be direct deposit, mine was. I just used "check" out of force of habit.

Poor Wendy! Its ok we haven't seen our money yet either. I was reading at the IRS site (yes I have no life) and they said its based on the last 2 numbers of your SSN as far as when the deposits go out. So everyone that had return direct deposited will have this direct deposited by the 16th. Atleast that's what the government is saying if you want to believe anything they say.
And I still have all my crap to put away and you see how well I'm putting that off. I think its just a low motivation kinda day!

The link in the comment above said the direct deposits would hit by the 2nd, unless I read that wrong. I won't worry yet.

I managed to get SOME stuff done. I guess I'll just let myself have a lazy day, perhaps a lazy weekend -- I know next week will be a bit crazy at work.

Tea doesn't do it for me! I made up an iced coffee type drink but it wasn't the same. This is the second time it's messed up in as many weeks... if it doesn't work tomorrow I think I'll just chuck it and get a new one. Er - except instead of chucking it, I'll probably go put it with the broken vacuum I fail at disposing of. O.o Cuz that's not as "mean" as throwing it away!

I'll watch the movie after the ballgame, I decided!
