How about a boring-ass RL update for a change, eh? ~~Because I don't feel like doing my Saturday morning chores yet.~~ I'll separate it into chunks for your skimming pleasure.

- I think I'm done fixing the broken/dead things around here. And as for "fixing myself" -- that gum surgery thing is gonna have to wait until next year. My insurance won't cover as much of it as I'd hoped (not even HALF of it). I'm tempted to blow it off altogether, except that my mom has had the same issues I have and HAS lost teeth because of it. Scary!

Meanwhile... to fill or not to fill this prescription for Vicodin...heh.

I need new glasses, too. New frames, mostly. I signed up for the vision insurance this year specifically to get a better pair but have yet to look into doing it.

- My cats are well, as are the not-my-cats. They're spending more time indoors lately. And last night is the first time one of them (Sangha) spent the entire night inside (was still here when I got up this morning). Joy! I can sleep through the night! (like training a baby, right? Hee!)

- Aaron is doing much better these days, though he continues to fail at logging into LJ (much less UPDATING his). *kicks MySpace*

- I haven't had much "bro time" lately. I need to convince him to either a) play Battlefront with me; b) watch a movie with me; c) take me with him tomorrow night so I can play Rock Band (he had casually mentioned that I should go some time... but maybe he's tired of hanging out with his dumb sister :P)

- One thing I'm really excited about -- I can haz RP again! Yaaaaaaaay! Only it's not crack, so it's a little scary. It'll be slower-paced than what I was used to, but that's a good thing: I like how productive I've been churning out fic and I want that to continue as well.

- Work has been... interesting. The work itself really hasn't changed much, but the dynamics of the office have, a bit. Before I go into that, though, I had a long-overdue review (was due in April, whoops! But it's okay, we don't get raises along with our reviews like MOST people) and this is where I would hear it if I were gonna be thrown into the back-up phone coverage rotation. I feel "safe" now. It's silly how much I hate the phone, isn't it? This is NOT a busy office -- phones are only hell for the branch offices.

My title was changed from "coordinator" to "assistant," though... because the HR people are redoing job titles/department codes to be universal throughout the company, and I'm an hourly shmuck, not deserving of the coordinator title! Or something like that. As long as they don't make me salary I'm fine with it. I find it amusing, and I joke that I've been demoted and all... but

gizzi1213 thinks I should be fuming. I think until they change my business cards (that I never use), my title in the Groupwise address book, and my title on the phone list, I could still list my title as a coordinator instead of an assistant on my resume, should I need to update it. I don't plan on getting a new job any time in the near future -- and if I did, I'd probably go to a temp agency anyway, where I wouldn't feel the need to have to sell myself so much. (I haaaaaaaaaaaaate job interviews)

My Golden Girls persona at work is now Blanche. >.> Yeah, TOTALLY not appropriate and to anyone who asks about it (there's a sign on my door) I say "they just randomly decided I was Blanche!" which isn't entirely true, but it's easier. :)

But just when I'm thinking maybe I should be more sociable with some of my coworkers, I'm reminded of why I DO keep to myself there. Guh, I fail at being a socially-normal person. I need to just be amused at their banter but stay on the sidelines. I could go on about this but I don't really feel like it; suffice it to say that if you're trying too hard, UR DOIN IT RONG.

- Remember how I said I would have a baby for my friend? Things have been worse since her last miscarriage and she and her hubby are separated now. I don't know all the details, but from what I do know, I'm not sure they should get back together. It's really sad. And I can just hear Aaron saying "I told you so" already. O.o

- Mountain trips: 2 left! Though I did tell my dad if he wants to go up more often, I'd be happy to Grandma-sit even if I'm not going up after. So next weekend that's what we're doing. I'll go up in mid-August, and then once more probably the last weekend in September, because September has too many busy weekends to go before then. I might take pictures next time, because I realized I don't have any on the computer anymore since the last crash... but my camera's being a beeyotch lately so I might not. We'll see.

- Oh! Back up to the work topic for a moment, although it's not work-related, really. One of the girls I went to the Idol concert with has taken an interest in me! (no, not like THAT, you pervs) I can't remember who I've told what to about her, but I'm liking this. She works in one of our branch offices across town. She emails me a lot, and I feel flattered. She's probably just bored or something but it's fun. I'm always the one who lets the email drop, but if it's been a couple hours she'll email me again. Isn't that sweet? Sometimes she asks me for advice, which makes me feel ~~falsely~~ wise. Have any of you seen Notes on a Scandal yet? I love that movie, I keep going on about it... anyway, I am like more than one of the characters in that movie, and I think this girl is sort of proof of that. >.> (again, NOT in a perverted way, you perverted pervy pervs) I should probably not try to explain this because I don't think I can without coming off as creepy.

Am I creepy? Maybe I am. Hmmmm.
