I always have to watch Lost on On Demand now, thanks to it overlapping with American Idol. I just saw last Wednesday's episode.

WTF???

How can Sayid kill 12-year-old Ben when we all know Ben grows up? Argh, time travel plots just boggle my mind anyway. That being said, I am loving this season so far! The mindfuckery is as good as it ever was, if not better.

If anyone knows something spoilery for future episodes, PLEASE DON'T tell me. (there's a reason I don't participate in the main Lost comm on LJ anymore!) I love being surprised. Just had to ask anyway, cuz I haven't mentioned Lost on here in a while!

I don't know spoilers but I think it is safe to say that Ben survives and future, or present Ben as we know him, holds it against Sayid.

I dunno... Sayid's an accomplished killer. Kind of annoying if they made it so he can't even kill a little kid with one shot. lol

And Faraday said all that has happened will happen, you can't change events.

Yeah, that "you can't change the past" thing is what's so bizarre about it. It's like...anything they do in this 1977 time is pre-ordained, they have no choice, but it's not really like that because they don't know that maybe they would have made another choice... bah! Like, wouldn't Sayid think of Ben as indestructible at age 12, because he knows that he did grow up and survive into the 2000s? Why wouldn't he hang out a minute and make sure he really died? What exactly would happen if he did change the future by killing him? Ben had a hand in so many people's lives...

I think since Sayid doesn't know of Faraday's rule that he thinks he is changing the future and making it better. So he's not thinking "I better make sure he is dead." I think he's thinking "I was brought here to kill Ben and change things. I shot him in the chest now I better run for it before they catch me."

Hmm, good point. I always forget who knows what on this show.

So would I... we could spoil the future ESB for everyone by screaming "VADER IS LUKE'S FATHER!!!" in the theatre. Ha!

So he's some kind of island mutant who can't die! Excellent! Hahaha, Back to the Future is how I kind of imagine time travel to be... where everything you change affects the future... but of course, in the end it's ridiculous because now Marty has a completely different life and he apparently doesn't have the memories of living that life, yet everyone else does. Bwuh?
