No, I didn't actually say that.

And yes, I know I should make more of an effort to connect to people outside of the damn computer. But you know what? If I don't answer the phone, there's a reason for it. THE #1 REASON BEING I HATE THE PHONE. I wish people wouldn't take it so personally, goddamn.

In happier news... I got my laptop back tonight! Yay!

I always answer the phone if the person calling is someone I know. I only let numbers I don't know or where caller ID has "unknown name, unknown number" showing go into voice mail. Usually those numbers leave no messages anyway.

Pssh, I don't even have caller ID, and I just don't answer the phone. And I try to avoid giving my cell number out (though one of my bffs drunk-dialed me at 1 AM last Friday to tell me she was watching Doctor Who).

I wouldn't answer anything at 1am because my cell phone would be off and I would sleep through the living room phone ringing (phone unplugged in bedroom). Also, if someone mentioned Dr. Who to me, I'd have to respond with "why the fuck do I CARE?!" :P

I'm so glad that only my parents call me. Though I hate it when people call on holidays and my parents are all 'hey, say hello to your aunt/uncle/cousin' or my mom wants me to talk to my grandma on the phone on a normal day. If I could fit with all my shoes and purses, I'd go hide under my bed whenever that happens.

If I'm expecting a call or I have plans with someone and I see they're calling, I'll answer it. But just out of the blue? Anxiety spike!

Text is lovely! It doesn't require the immediate response that the phone does. So it's more like IM or email that way. But I don't do it enough to justify having an unlimited texting plan (don't want to pay for that!).

I screen my calls, too, as I also hate the phone. Partially the result of years of an ex who wouldn't let me off the bloody thing, no doubt, but I also simply hate being caught on the phone when I don't feel like talking, and people generally take it better when you're just 'not there' as opposed to getting on the phone and then telling them 'I don't feel like talking right now,' which generally results in a) a pouty fest of 'aren't I special enough to talk to' or b) 'oh, hey, I understand--' followed by twenty minutes of conversation talking place anyway.
