My favorite Harry Potter movie is still #4, Goblet of Fire. I thought maybe #6 had eclipsed it but nope, this week I found out where my affections lie! (Sorry, young Tom, I still love you, though!) I watched one Harry Potter film every day up until New Year's Eve, when I got to the last one.

Shame on me, I deleted my GoF icons. I'm particularly missing the "hotter than your boyfriend" Cedric one, silly as it sounds. *pout* I wonder if I can find some even with LJ's "new and improved? MY ASS" search function that doesn't work nearly as well as the old one.

I was in a pissy mood yesterday and allowed that to derail me from accomplishing anything. Today, the tides shall turn, oh yes!

*bops off to shower*

Yay! It also happens to be the film with the Harry 'do that I like the best (long and shaggy) but I think that's coincidental <3

I agree with you. I prefer GoF to the other HP films, too.

Because it has more Lucius time than the others? :D

No, I think both CS and OotP have more Lucius time than GoF. In CS, Lucius has the better lines and in OotP, Lucius has the prettier hair. I guess it must be something else then... hm... ;)

But in GoF you get to see him sucking up to Voldie, at least :D

I guess I have to agree with this one. They removed far too much from the latter films.

...You and your jailbait, Wendy.

I can't remember who on my f-list didn't like #4 at all. I remember it blew me away. (it still baffles me that both my parents didn't like it and haven't liked any of them since... yet they still go see them. They say there's "too much magic" in them, for one thing. *eyeroll* And I think they just don't care for the darker tone)

*huggles jailbait*

...How can a movie about a magical school have too much magic? Its like saying Willy Wonka had too much candy.

Exactly!

I think maybe they found some things confusing because they haven't read the books. I think the movies stand pretty well on their own, but... I guess we know a little more from reading the books? It's not like you have to remember what all the spells mean, though. It's pretty easy to see what's happening when you watch.

I dunno. I'm sure they'll annoy me by seeing the final two movies and complaining about them, rather than just staying away because they don't like HP anymore!

That is true. Like the whole Half-blood Prince part. If you just see the movie, you'll be lost as to what that really was about.

Yeah! How many people came out of that movie thinking Snape was a prince? The book has so much more about that, it's not just some afterthought at the end.

The half-blood prince thing was also an introspective look at the similarities between Harry and Snape. Harry believed in the goodness of the half-blood prince even with all the dangerous spells. It was supposed to raise question of whether Snape was truly bad.

Borders ripped me off when I reserved for Book 7! I never got my Team Snape button that was promised to me! I'm still bitter!

Did you confront Borders about it?

BTW why aren't you on AIM?

No, I forgot about it 'til months later when I came across my reservation confirmation email!

And I'm not because:
1) MY GODDAMN FUCKING INTERNET KEEPS CUTTING OUT
2) AIM is evil - once on there, I don't get anything done!

I think 6 would have been my favourite if it had turned out anything like the book! Unfortunately they cut all of the good parts. Boo! Five is actually my fav film, which is odd, as it is one of my least favourite of the books--but it works much better on screen.

I honestly don't have a favorite book. I've read them through twice now, you'd think I'd have more of an opinion! I wonder if the fact that I'm a slow-as-fuck reader has anything to do with it.

What I really miss from Book #6 is the "I'll be fine, Harry, I'm with you" bit that Dumbledore says. I cannot BELIEVE they left that out of the movie! Perfect passing of the torch right there, nice emotional moment, made me cry upon re-reading and I'd been looking forward to seeing it on the big screen. *le sigh*

I'd just have been happy if the half-blood prince was, um, EXPLAINED? AT ALL?

Poor Severus.

when we went to see GOF my friend was like hey! lets do these drugs! i thought they were a type of drug that doesnt do much to me, well turns out who KNOWS what they were. needless to say GOF turned into the most drawn out, horrifying, ridiculous event EVER lol. everyne in the theater was drunk so it was okay that my friend kept shouting "Look at hermiones sweet ass!" and when Cho starts speaking i yelled "this movie's been DUBBED!" lol. then my friend and i didnt feel well and stumbled out to the lobby, where they had one of those enormous lines for something, and i threw up in the water fountain in front like 200 ppl lol. then there was some blizzard outside and we coudlnt figure out how to drive so we just drove around the parking lot for hours. but anyway, it's probably a great movie but it was so traumatizing. i was like hiding under the chair and thinking everything was real and totally flipped out at hte cedric part. so basically i cant even think about that movie lol. i liked the last one though.

Ha! Maybe it was YOU who didn't like it then, though I don't remember you telling me all THAT. *snort* DRUGS ARE BAD, MMMMKAY?

I'm trying to get my brother interested in watching, but it ain't happenin'. I tried the Emma Watson draw... and I know he loves Alan Rickman... I forgot to mention Cho and that other girl who's in OotP for 3 seconds (Liane?) - ha!
