lol I say embrace your inner 12-year-old girl for as much of Twilight you like and try to laugh at yourself for it too. I mean, I like the parts of Twilight that I like and I'm not afraid to admit that I like those parts, but then there are the parts that I hate and I'm not afraid to say that I hate those parts and joke about the entire situation. Even I admit, I enjoy the movies. I mock them mercilessly, too, and I drinking game that shit up...but they're fun and they pass a few hours. The books...my inner psychology!minor screams at how fucked up they are. But...I can appreciate that others like them?

I've heard the books are atrocious. But if I enjoyed the movies so much would I really hate the books? I dunno... I only read one of the Sookie Stackhouse novels because I didn't really care for the writing style and much prefer to just watch the show. Decisions decisions, should I read Twilight or not...

I watched the first film and it... bored me.

I've never really had an opinion on the 'Twilight' thing aside from the fact that I find vampire in general rather trite.

My brother would agree with you. He makes fun of me for watching True Blood, and now Twilight. I make fun of him for liking One Tree Hill and the OC (which you probably don't know about but I don't think you want to).

Twilight's a lot of fun, I find, and for me personally, a love/hate thing. Like, I can definitely see and acknowledge the shitty parts of it while embracing it for what it is and enjoying the hell out of it otherwise.

Fandom-wise, I'm fairly enmeshed, so if you're looking for anything (icons, comms, fic, etc.), just let me know, and I'll see what I can do, lol. :p To start you off, since you haven't read the books and you don't look to be interested in fic, you can check out my icons and grab any if you want and/or follow the trail to other icons. :D

After reading some comments above I say read the first book and take it from there. Though Eclipse is my fav book of the 4.

Also, IMHO Kristen greatly improved the character of Bella.
