I finally did another painting

Notes: the real thing is not this BLURRY, I swear! Usually my iPod takes better pictures >.> I'm not extremely happy with it, but I think my brother will like it. He'll definitely be surprised!





I regret the unfortunate positioning of Ellie and that front rock... I don't know what I was thinking when I wanted to have her stepping over it. Without something exact to copy I couldn't get it to look right, and ended up making the rock bigger -- like she'd just stepped over it -- to cover up the mistake. Live and learn, I guess!

Thank you! I couldn't have done it without the reference picture. My next one is going to be from this same 'verse but a snow scene, which I've never done before, should be fun (and it'll be the first one I've done for ME in eons).

My bro liked it! He wouldn't even let me try to point out the flaws. I don't know why I always feel like I have to do that... like people are going to be looking at it thinking "gee, this part here kind of sucks, wonder why she did that" when they never even notice such things. I mean, none of us are art professionals or critics or whatever. He was surprised, for sure. My parents were too, I hadn't told them I was doing it.

You know, I am a big fan of juvenile stories, and I have quite a lot of them.
Now, just this one illustration with the girl in it would really encourage any pro writers to make up stories about a girl who loves nature and her family. Very inspirational, this painting is... :)
